Designed for the U.S. Army Squad Designated Marksman Rifle System and Special Forces and now available to everyone, the Sig Sauer 1-6x24 TANGO6T Riflescope combines precision optics with a precision partially illuminated reticle and turret system to produce a scope that is ideally suited for close and mid-range tactical engagements and varmint hunting.
A suite of optical technologies is brought to bear that are designed to complement each other and enhance your view. First is the use of the HDX optical system, which is composed of extra-low dispersion (ED) and high-transmittance (HT) glass, which minimizes optical distortion and light absorption to transmit bright and clear images. Next Sig employs ultra-wide broadband, anti-reflection SpectraCoat lens coatings, along with protective LenShield and LensArmor coatings. This combination of glass and lens coatings produces high-resolution and high-contrast views in all light conditions. The front of the objective has threads for filters—like polarizing or ND—to enhance the views, especially when operating in snowy conditions or on/near water.
The modified German-style first focal plane reticle ensures that its subtensions remain consistent throughout the entire zoom range and the horseshoe/dot configuration ensures a clearly discernible illuminated aiming point on both high and low power without obstructing the target. A dedicated turret provides 11 selectable intensity levels from two dim settings that are night vision device (NVD) compatible all the way up to a bright setting that makes the aiming dot clearly and distinctly visible in full daylight. A motion detection system, MOTAC, automatically activates the illuminated portion of the reticle when the weapon is shouldered and powers it down when it senses inactivity after 2 minutes—ensuring a long battery life and instant illumination when you need it. The capped turrets provide a precise 0.2 MRAD per click impact point correction with a side 31 MRAD adjustment range on both the windage and elevation.
To withstand the repeated recoil of regular use, the one-piece maintube is made of lightweight but strong aluminum and is robust at 30mm in diameter. A laser-engraved mounting line enables the riflescope to be aligned with scope rings. The housing is sealed to an IPX8 rating for water and fogproof performance in the most adverse weather, so the scope will keep working in the most extreme conditions.
