The bag is tight on the sides for the Nova. If you use all low profile connectors it’s fine. Also, I switched out the orca 30 front pouch for added room.

I record on a Zoom F8n and had been using the Orca OR-30, which I loved. Orca makes amazing products. High quality materials and solid manufacture. My only problem was that it was too big for my use. I got this OR-272 and it is a much better size for my recorder. There are just two issues I noticed. One is that the images on the B&H website are not all accurate. The first image showing the plain, single compartment panel on the front is correct. The other images showing the larger panel with multiple compartments, bungees for holding your boom and the two side pouches for your wireless receivers does not come with it. Fortunately, I still had my OR-30 so I just unzipped the panel and replaced it with that one. The other thing, as another reviewer points out, is that when using this bag with an F8 you cannot zip up the sides if you have any normal XLR plugged into one side, let alone both sides. This makes using this more awkward and cumbersome. I found an expensive but viable solution with the: Cable Techniques Coiled Jumper Cable - Low-Profile XLR 3-Pin Female to XLR 3-Pin Male (6 to 15) BH #CACTLPCC6 MFR #CT-LP-CC-6, which should allow my to zip up the sides while in use. But feels like a great all around bag otherwise.

Well designed and well made! Great compact solution for MixPre-10II. Power supply, batteries, and USB cable all fit with room to spare for SD cards, USB drives, etc. Very pleased with purchase.

Dimensions for the Tascam DR-70D Field Recorder are 6.7 x 4.2 x 2.2" (169 x 106.5 x 55.2 mm) with the top adapter attached and the interior dimensions of the ORCA OR-272 Sound Bag for Zoom F4 and F8N are 8.66 x 8.27 x 2.16" (220 x 210 x 55 mm). It looks like the thickness of the case interior is going to be too tight and the recorder will also be sitting low inside of the case. If you remove the top adapter from the DR-70D, then it will fit better, but still be sitting low. A better option for a case would be the ORCA OR-28 Mini Audio Bag for ZOOM F8, Zaxcom Max, Tascam DR70 & Other Recorders (B&H # OROR28), the ORCA OR-27 Small Sound Bag (B&H # OR27), or the PortaBrace Custom Case for Tascam DR-70D Audio Recorder (B&H # POARDR70D), which are all designed to fit the DR-70D.

The OR-272 is designed for larger field recorders like the Zoom F8n and F4 models, but you could fit the H6 in the front or back pockets along with the larger recorder. If you want a case for the H6 only, We do have other cases that are specifically for the H6, like the Zoom PCH-6 Protective Case for Zoom H6 Handy Recorder (B&H # ZOZPCH6), Auray RP-ZH6 Protective Pouch for Zoom H6 Handy Recorder (B&H # AURPZH6), or Porta Brace AR-ZH6 Case for Zoom H6 Pro Handy Recorder (B&H # POARZH6). Yes, the ORCA OR-272 Sound Bag for Zoom F4 and F8N allows the recorder to be mounted at the top of the bag with space underneath when it is strapped in. This allows cabling to flow freely and make connections under the recorder easily.

One of the complaints for this bag and while using a Zoom f8n are you cannot leave an xlr cable plugged in and zip the bag. Would using a right angled xlr cable solve this issue?
In theory, an XLR cable with right angle XLR male in the proper orientation may help with the described issue of not being able to close the zipper on the ORCA OR-272 Sound Bag for Zoom F4 and F8N when cables are connected to the recorder inside the bag.
