Designed by Russian amateur telescope maker and astronomer Pavel Bahtinov, the Meade Instruments Bahtinov Focusing Mask can be used to quickly and easily focus your telescope for all types of astrophotography with DSLRs or imaging systems. It produces a unique diffraction pattern, which makes it very easy to see when the telescope is precisely focused and takes the guesswork out of focusing on astronomical objects. It ensures tack-sharp stars, planets, and just about any other celestial subject you want to photograph or image without special tools or software. Made of lightweight plastic, the mask is designed to fit the dew shield or objective retaining ring of 12" telescopes with diameters from 11.4" to 13.7".
