You can mount your small to medium-sized DSLR camera without a battery pack to the release plate in a horizontal or vertical orientation. A loop is machined at the end of the plate for attaching the handgrip or a separately available shoulder strap. The included handgrip clamps onto the plate via its Arca-type clamp and fastens to it via the rotary knob. The plate has the additional option of mounting on a 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 tripod mount.
