Panasonic Lumix G 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye Overview

Complementing the lens itself, the Panasonic Lumix G Fisheye 8mm f/3.5 Lens with Accessories Kit from B&H bundles the fisheye prime with a protective pouch.

Panasonic Lumix G Fisheye 8mm f/3.5 Lens

One of the most distinct lens designs, the Lumix G Fisheye 8mm f/3.5 from Panasonic is a 180° fisheye that produces unique and creative distortion for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras. Pairing a modest maximum aperture and a sophisticated optical design, a compact and lightweight form factor is possible, and the optical design also features one extra-low dispersion element to maintain high clarity and color accuracy. Individual elements have also been multi-coated, and a built-in lens hood is featured, to suppress lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast and more accurate colors. Additionally, a stepping AF motor and an internal focus mechanism afford quick, quiet, and smooth focusing performance to suit both video and photo applications.

Ultra-wide fisheye lens is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and provides a 16mm equivalent focal length.
Fisheye design renders a 180° angle of view to produce a distinct visual appeal characterized by dramatic distortion and a creative depiction of space.
One extra-low dispersion element is used in the optical design to suppress chromatic aberrations and color fringing for improved clarity and color accuracy.
Individual elements have been multi-coated to effectively reduce lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast when working in strong lighting conditions.
Stepping AF motor and internal focus design provides smooth and quiet focusing performance that is well-suited to both photo and video use.

Ruggard Fold-Over Neoprene Lens Pouch (3 x 3", Black)

Store, transport and protect a lens or accessory up to 2.8 x 3.25" with the black Fold-Over Neoprene Lens Pouch from Ruggard. This attractive pouch helps protect your gear from dust, dirt, and moderate bumps. The soft neoprene material is anti-abrasive, splash-resistant, and durable. Photographers will appreciate the quick-access, fold-over, touch-fastening top. Carry your lens pouch by hand or in a larger bag or case.

Lens Protection

Padded material cushions your lens on all sides, and protects it from dings and dents that happen by getting knocked around in your bag.

Splash Resistant

This lens pouch is made of neoprene and resists splashes and moisture to keep your lens dry.

Anti-Abrasive Interior

The interior is soft and anti-abrasive material that is easy on your lens, so it won't scratch your precious items.

Fold-Over Top

A fold-over top makes the lens pouch easy to open and close while preventing dirt and dust from reaching your lens. It's held together with a touch fastener for security, keeping the fold-over top closed so the pouch doesn't open in your camera bag.

Am I blind? I don't see an aperture ring on the lens. How do I manually set?
Asked by: Ralph
The aperture is set through the body of the camera and not from the lens. Mostly all new digital lenses apertures are controlled through the camera.

Is the aperture also control by a step motor or it is manual only?
Asked by: Anonymous
The aperture on this lens will not be controlled by the AF stepping motor, but you can choose to use an auto-aperture mode. This setting will allow for the camera to determine and apply the best aperture for correct exposure in a given scenario. Of course, you will also have the option of manually choosing your own aperture for creative effect.

This is a rectilinear type which utilizes the entire sensor-plane area giving a 180 degree field of view.

Would this lens be good for astrophotography?
Asked by: Jason D.
Probably not, unless you want to take a photo of essentially the whole sky shooting straight up. A better choice, still wide angle, would be Panasonic 7-14mm zoom, f/4, or 20mm f/1.7. YMMV
