It attaches to your desk edge or grommet to free the space on your desk that your monitors currently occupy. It supports two 13 to 32" displays up to 17.6 lb each with 75 x 75 or 100 x 100mm mount patterns for use with most monitors. The mount provides ±90° of tilt adjustment, 360° of swivel, 11.5" of height adjustment, and extends up to 21.5" to help you place them precisely where you want. The MI-2762 allows you to mount your displays in either portrait or landscape orientation. Two integrated USB ports let you connect two devices to charge or otherwise connect to your computer.

Save desk space by mounting your two monitors to the Mount-It! MI-2762 Dual-Monitor Desk Mount. It attaches to your desk edge or grommet to free the space on your desk that your monitors currently occupy. It supports two 13 to 32" displays up to 17.6 lb each with 75 x 75 or 100 x 100mm mount patterns for use with most monitors. The mount provides ±90° of tilt adjustment, 360° of swivel, 11.5" of height adjustment, and extends up to 21.5" to help you place them precisely where you want. The MI-2762 allows you to mount your displays in either portrait or landscape orientation. Two integrated USB ports let you connect two devices to charge or otherwise connect to your computer.

I would have given it 5 stars, maybe 6, if the legs and the base plate's tension were adjustable. I use this with LG 27 monitors attached to a rising desktop that can be raised. And it still stays stable.

Can this be mounted by screwing it into the desktop? (Actually, it is a kitchen countertop with a back lip - so I cannot use a clamp.) Thank you!

It can not be screwed in. It is a table top clamp.

Depending on the size of the monitors you might be able to. There are mounts specifically made for this style mounting.
