Pairing impressive imaging capabilities with an especially compact design, the silver FUJIFILM X-T30 is a versatile mirrorless camera distinguished by advanced stills and video recording along with sleek and intuitive handling characteristics. Featuring a revised image sensor and processor, both high-resolution stills and 4K video can be recorded while an apt autofocus system delivers quick and accurate focusing performance. The sensor, a 26.1MP APS-C-format X-Trans CMOS 4, features a back-illuminated design, to promote greater image quality throughout the sensitivity range, along with a 425-point phase-detection autofocus system for quick, precise AF performance and subject tracking. Complementing the imaging and focusing is the X-Processor 4, which uses four CPUs for faster image processing as well as continuous shooting up to 8 fps with a mechanical shutter, 30 fps shooting at a 1.25x crop and electronic shutter, and internal DCI/UHD 4K30 video recording.

Sharing a familiar aesthetic of FUJIFILM X-series cameras, the X-T30 sports classically inspired looks, has prominent physical controls, and has a high-resolution 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder. Conversely, a rear 3.0" 1.04m-dot tilting touchscreen LCD can also be used for live view shooting and larger image playback. Additionally, the X-T30 also sports built-in Bluetooth for wireless sharing and remote control.

26.1MP APS-C X-Trans BSI CMOS 4 Sensor and X-Processor 4
Sharing a sensor with the professional-oriented X-T3, the X-T30 features an APS-C-format 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor, which has a back-illuminated design to afford smooth tonal rendering, improved low-light performance, and a low native ISO 160 setting. As an X-Trans sensor, it utilizes a randomized pixel array, too, which provides a high degree of image quality and sharpness due to the omission of an optical low-pass filter. Versus conventional pixel patterns, the X-Trans design more closely mimics the organic nature of film in order to produce nuanced colors and tonal transitions, while also reducing moiré and aliasing.

The sensor's design also includes an expanded phase-detection autofocus system, which now has 425 selectable points that cover nearly the entire sensor area. This AF system delivers faster, more accurate focusing performance along with low-light sensitivity down to EV -3. Complementing the imaging and focusing capabilities, an updated X-Processor 4 is also featured, and delivers faster focus response for subject tracking and also supports Face- and Eye-Detection AF when working in AF-C mode and when recording video.

The X-Processor 4 also utilizes four CPU units for faster image processing and it benefits overall performance with faster AF and tracking speeds. Quick continuous shooting is possible, up to 8 fps with a mechanical shutter or 30 fps with an electronic shutter and a 1.25x crop, and internal UHD 4K30 video recording with F-Log is also supported.
UHD and DCI 4K Video Recording
More than a stills camera, the X-T30 offers an enticing array of video capabilities, including internal UHD 4K30 video recording at up to 200 Mb/s—and simultaneous external and internal recording is possible. DCI 4K30 and Full HD 1080p120 recording is also possible, and video files can be saved using the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 compression. Greatly benefitting overall video performance, the speed of the quad-CPU X-Processor 4 enables fast read speeds when recording 4K video, which helps to reduce rolling shutter distortion when filming moving subjects.

The X-T30 also includes the F-Log gamma setting, which provides a flat picture for use in advanced color grading software during editing. This maximizes the potential dynamic range in difficult scenes and image adjustments can be made, as well, to highlight tone, shadow tone, color, and sharpness. When working in F-Log, an updated noise reduction algorithm is available along with 4K inter-frame noise reduction, and the minimum sensitivity has been lowered to ISO 640 to suit working in a broader range of scene types.
Body Design
  • A bright and clear means for eye-level viewing, a 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder offers a 0.62x magnification with a fast refresh rate, wide viewing angle, and adjustable diopter settings. The viewfinder remains blackout free while shooting up to the top 30 fps shooting rate, and a unique Sports Finder Mode can also be employed, which highlights a 16.6MP crop area of the sensor in order to allow you to see outside of the image frame.
  • In addition to the EVF. a rear 3.0" 1.04m-dot LCD touchscreen is available for intuitive live view shooting, playback and review, and settings adjustment and menu navigation. The screen has a two-way tilting design, too, to suit working from high and low angles regardless if shooting with a horizontal or vertical orientation.
  • The top plate incorporates a series of dials and levers for fast, intuitive control over exposure settings, including a shutter speed dial that offers direct shutter speed adjustment, a mode dial, and an exposure compensation dial to choose +/- 3 EV in 1/3 steps, while a command dial position expands the range to +/- 5 EV for further control.
  • Front and rear command dials integrate a push function for easier use and settings selection and function buttons can be assigned to control a range of settings.
  • A dedicated Focus Lever provides faster, more intuitive control over selecting specific focus points while shooting.
  • Integrated Bluetooth 4.2 low energy allows you to wirelessly share images to a mobile device or use the device to remotely control the camera.
Film Simulation and Grain Effect Modes
Taking advantage of FUJIFILM's vast history in traditional film-based photography, the X-T30 integrates several Film Simulation modes. These modes mimic the look and feel of some of FUJIFILM's classic film types, including Eterna, which copies the look of cinematic film with understated colors and richer shadow tones; Acros, which offers smooth tones, deep blacks, and fine detail; and Classic Chrome, which is designed to deliver muted tones and a deep color reproduction, similar to that of a dated slide film. Several other effects are also available for both monochrome and color shooting. In addition to simulating specific film types, a Grain Effect mode is also available to replicate the look of old film photos with an organic textured appearance, which is especially noticeable when printing.

X-T30 Mirrorless Digital Camera (Body Only, Silver) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Remarkable APS-C Camera in small form factor As an owner of the X-T3, I can truly say that this is a mini X-T3 with little functionality taken away. Image quality and performance both in stills and video is exceptional. The biggest gripes with this camera is with handling and usability, which is understandable given the tiny size. The mic jack is 2.5mm, requiring an adaptor for most external mics. There is also very little grip on the camera, and so it is awkward with anything but small lenses. But you knew you were buying a small camera ahead of time! I think this camera is great as a backup to a larger camera, as I am using it with regards to the X-T3.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Downsized from Sony A7iii, very satisfied This is an excellent camera if the user keeps in mind the purpose of the design: Great pictures and powerful features in a very lightweight and compact camera. Those expecting full-frame ergonomics will be disappointed. Im an amateur who values convenience as well as quality, so the X-T30 is the ideal combination. I use this camera exclusively for pictures, so I have no experience with its video features. I initially missed the d-pad, but very quickly got used to the joystick, The location of the Q-menu button is a bit of a pain. Pros: - Great Fuji analog interface - Excellent autofocus speed and accuracy - Compact, lightweight, unobtrusive - Great native lens selection, including relatively fast primes at reasonable prices - Film simulations and highly customizable jpgs Cons: - Getting used to accessing commands with the joystick (no d-pad) - Avoiding inadvertent selection of the Q-menu (suggestion for Fuji: Firmware update with double click) - Lack of IBIS If possible Id give the X-T30 4.5 stars due to the quirks listed above, but overall it is an excellent camera, regardless of its (very competitive) price point.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful camera, with a flaw or two Trading up from an X T-20. This has almost all the great qualities of the X T-20 - light, well designed, superb image quality, amazing customization capacity. Improvements include faster focusing, no blackout of EVF, and focus stacking. However, in the course of allowing the front dual to do 3 different things, they killed a useful setting I was using that allowed me to turn on and off the front dial's function for exposure compensation. I may be the only one who cares, though. One other thing that lots of people have complained bout is the changed placement of the Q (quick menu) button, which gets repeatedly pressed accidentally. Still all in all a superb camera and a great value

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I may like this camera even better than my xt-3.  It really does take the same great pictures and is so small and portable.  Ive been taking it with me everywhere.  It may be too small for  someone with big hands, but for an average size woman like me, its the perfect size.  Took a little while to stop pressing the Q button accidentally, but all you have to do if it happens is half depress the shutter.  Totally happy with the camera.  Just ordered the 16mm f2.8 to use with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, Easy, Portable, Light I have been a photographer for almost 20 years. The XT30 has been in my hand every day since I got it about a week ago. Like any new product I receive I put it through the test to make sure it performs well. First and foremost, this is an excellent camera, especially for the price. This camera can do everything my Nikon can do for stills and is far superior on focusing. This camera is not for everyone, but like any tool, you need to know its purpose. This camera is small but packs a big punch. I find myself grabbing this camera over my D810 to scout location or shooting videos. I am still learning how to best use this camera. I had this camera scheduled for return, but started to use it more and more and I decided not to return it. I am loving this camera. There are some things about it I would like to see changed, but there are issues with all cameras. There are only two things I would like to see changed so far. I would like to see the SD card on the side, create a long press to activate the Q Button which is always pressed because its so close to the thumb when holding the camera. This seems to be the biggest complaint among users. If i would add one more thing, I would like a better battery life when using video. Overall, this is an excellent camera. I will be ordering additional lenses. I am currently using this camera primarily for video, but I can easily see myself using this for outdoor headshots, fast moving candid or situations which would require fast focusing. I would recommend this to anyone starting in video, traveling, also requiring fast focusing and portability. Its light, fast, easy, portable and creative. You can be as creative as you want with this camera. You cant beat the price for its capability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good purchase Im a novice/amateur...dont really know how to do a detailed comparison, and this is the first REAL camera Ive owned in years.  So far, Im quite happy with it.  Did extensive research prior to purchasing.  It was close to a toss up between this and the X-T3, but in the end I decided to let cost and the compact form factor win over the video/viewfinder/weatherizing of the X-T3.  Ive only been playing and getting to know the camera so far, but have been really happy with the pictures Im getting.  I tend towards a mix of street, around-the-house, landscape, very occasional portraits, and a few flowers (added MCEX-11 for that, but with mid-size flowers it does fine without the extension tube).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from impressive! But... This camera makes it pretty easy to come out with beautiful pictures. Im particularly happy about the choice I made for the 23mm as kit lens. I realize that It is by far the most natural focal length for me. Having owned and used many Fuji X cameras including X-T10 & 20 and X-T1, the most notable difference here is the incredible tracking ability and face/eye detection. This time, its true! Finally! Burst speed is also impressive and trilling. Joystick is nice to have for focus pointing but I miss the bunch of function buttons coming with the D-pad. They are replaced by a touchscreen set that I still have to get used to while it seems to do pretty good. The X-T3 has kept all those and its a real plus. The Q-menu button, as most reviewers have mentioned, is badly positioned. A design error as incredible as it is evident! And unless my copy is defect, you could be surprised with the sudden black out when the battery get empty from more than 3-5 full to completely dry at the touch of a button!

Has anyone figured out a combo of USB-c cable and micro hdmi cable that can both fit when plugged in at the same time?
    Asked by: Alex
Because of how close those connections are this is something that may require trial and error to find the proper solution for. You could try using a product like the CAMVATE C1732 Micro-HDMI Male to HDMI Female Adapter (6"), B&H # CAC1732, for the HDMI connection. This may help by pushing the official HDMI connection a bit off of the body. However you will need to test it out, or other products like it, to see how it works. https://bhpho.to/2K73BMe
