This actually workers perfectly on the old BMD Micro converters. The old versions have Micro-USB ports on them. The newer 3G versions with USB-C ports require longer screws, and the hole placement was also moved about 1/8 closer to the SDI ports. It still works but hangs over the side a bit now.
The shoe mount adapter is a nice way to attach the micro converter to a camera or a cage for example. The only issues is that the screws that comes with it (for attaching it to the converter) are too short. They are longer than the ones on the converter it self (that they are intended to replace), but still to short. Once I replaced them with longer screws it works perfect. If you do replace the screws with longer ones, make sure to fully open the converter and check the length and clearance on the inside. Depending on which side of the converter you mount the adapter, there are connectors that that the screw can destroy if they are too long!
