The FLYCAM Flowline Placid Two-Axis Spring Arm attaches to your Flowline camera support and provides vibration isolation to your camera, camera rig, or gimbal in two axes. Well suited to help create smooth walking or running shots, the Flowline Placid supports cameras and rigs from 11 to 44 lb and works to help minimize both vertical and side-to-side vibration.
Two interchangeable tension springs provide the wide weight range, with the blue spring handling loads from 11 to 26 lb and the red spring handling loads from 26 to 44 lb. A manual tension knob allows you to fine-tune the tension of the spring to adjust to your camera rig's weight. Mounting on top of the Flowcine top arm, the Placid enables going from low to high mode so you can quickly line up and take the shot.

I've had this along with the flycam for over a year. No complaints. Has survived a bunch of productions. Nice and smooth and good dampening. Good quality product!

From what I can gather, yes it does mount to the Easyrig Vario 5 and seems to perform very similar.

How effective is it in mitigating vertical movement while walking?
The FLYCAM Flowline Placid Two-Axis Spring Arm does a decent job stabilizing the Z-Axis when paired with a 3-axis motorized gimbal, but it is not exactly at the level of a dedicated dual iso-elastic stabilizer arm commonly found on Steadicams.
