Manfrotto Befree GT XPRO Travel Carbon Fiber ... Reviews

Easy to carry around.

Got this to have a lighter tripod for real estate photos and I am quite satisfied with it. The ball head is pretty fast and accurate which makes my work quite easy. I prefer arca swiss over the manfrotto mount but it's not a big deal for my work and the head can be swapped if I ever chose to do so. The fact the middle can till to do macro is also a nice touch if you like that type of photography.

Arca Swiss L Bracket won't work.

I should have read the Q&A but my RRS Lbracket won't work since the tripod is not arca swiss compatible. Manfrotto sells an L Bracket but it doesn't give you access to connect a shutter release or a teether tool cable unless you mount it on the right side of the camera and then you can't get your hand around it to hand hold. I'm so bummed. I'm back to square one looking for another tripod, which is work. So bummed.

What's a good way to add weight to this tripod? There is a button and no hook on center column. There is a flimsy carry strap attachment point on the tripod base that doesn't install confidence. I am thinking of using stainless steel eyebolt in the 3/8" easy link socket and hanging my backpack on that unless someone has better suggestions.

I’ve had mine for about a year. I haven’t found a good way to do this yet.

Does this have a gripping area or surface on one of the legs for the aluminum model or the carbon fiber?
Asked by: Derek
While this carbon fiber model does not offer a gripping surface on one of the legs, the Manfrotto Befree Advanced Travel Aluminum Tripod with 494 Ball Head (Twist Locks, Black), B&H # MAMKBFRTA4BK would offer this feature. https://bhpho.to/2QX4zM3

Asked by: Soroosh
No, the Nikon D5300 DSLR Camera (B&H # NID5300B) does not need an adapter to mount as it is compatible with the 1/4"-20 mounting screw of the Manfrotto Befree GT XPRO Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod with 496 Center Ball Head (B&H # MAMKBFRC4GTX).
