Featuring the original CL 1B and a newer, improved version over the original model's sound and graphics, the Tube-Tech Compressor Collection from Softube is a pair of downloadable optical compressor plug-ins based on a Tube-Tech classic, with soft and smooth sound that can deliver heavy compression levels without degrading the original signal. The plug-in is CPU friendly and uses old school VU meter displays, assignable to the input, gain reduction, or output.
A comprehensive set of controls includes attack and release settings. In manual mode, the compressor functions in a traditional manner with the user specifying all settings. A fixed/manual mode allows the release control to work as in manual mode, with the attack fixed to a fast attack, and the attack knob turning into a delay for the release time.
You can sidechain the compressor's input to an external source, or make use of the internal low-cut filter to tune the compressor's reactivity. The internal sidechain is selectable between off, 80 Hz and 220 Hz. A dry/wet knob is on hand should you wish to use the compressor in parallel. The plug-in is available for Mac and Windows platforms and includes the first-generation legacy addition of the plug-in for backwards compatibility with sessions that utilize the CL 1B.
