It is well made, works as advertised and the B&H service was excellent.

Does not work for Speaker to iPhone

staff need to know that this adapter does not work for a microphone into an iPhone. Apple is slick, but knowing now that the cable needs to be bi-directional is a problem. I do not need a cable for out, I need one for in. I gave this due diligence, talked to a great rep there, but she was unaware of this limitation.

Using this with an external rf lav mic, is it superior to the Apple mini adapter?

The Thore 3.5mm Audio to Lightning Connector Aux Cable (4', Black) BH #THRC12GM features a male 3.5mm to lightning while the Apple adapter BH #APLAADAP has a female 3.5mm to lightning connection. Generally to use a compatible lavalier mic you would insert the trrs connection of the lavalier into the apple adapter to use with your iPhone.
