Bright white light can wreck your night-acclimated vision, so the Nitecore P18 Compact Tactical LED Flashlight has a red light option you can use for after-dark tasks like reading a map, checking equipment, or adjusting a telescope. It also has five white-light settings up to 1800 lumens, an SOS signal, location beacon, and random-frequency strobe, all powered by a single battery in a unibody die-cast aluminum housing.
The P18 fits in your fist and is controlled by a silent push-button tailcap switch for the white light and a side switch for the red.
