iPhone 12 still has the lightning connector. The FLIR One Pro for lightning connectors does connect directly to the iPhone 12

The FLIR One Pro Thermal Camera for Smartphones (Lightning) BH #FLONEPROL will make a reliable connection with many thinner cases, but may not connect properly when thicker, heavy-duty cases are used.
