Light & Motion has put together this Stella Pro CL 8000 RF Broadcast Kit to offer image makers an opportunity to maximize the use of this compact light source with, power and remote control options and an expansive range of accessories. The kit includes a Stella Pro CL 8000 RF Daylight LED head with a wireless remote control, an Umbrella Holder YS Mount, C-stand mount, High Leverage Handle, and an external power supply. Kit modifiers include a 50-degree optic, 25-degree Fresnel, Profoto Adapter, Speed Ring Gel Holder, and a Dome Diffuser. A carry case is provided for storage and transport.
The Stella Pro CL 8000 RF LED Light from Light & Motion is a daylight-balanced LED source that packs in a wide variety of advanced features in a small form factor. The light features (spLED) "single point" enhancements to the emitters that Light & Motion has designed to reduce the light field and eliminate multiple shadows that can plague LED fixtures. They've also introduced RF technology via the Stella 8000's built-in wireless receiver. This enhanced version of the light also has a valuable convenience feature - the head is removable. With the CL 8000's predecessor, accessories such as the dome port and the 50-degree optic had to be attached to barndoors. Now they mount directly on the fixture.
The Stella 8000 is well-suited for location work. With its compact form factor of 7 x 3.5 x 3.5" and a weight of only 2.54 lb, it's barely noticeable in your kit case. What is noticeable is the clean, accurate color rendering output from the unit's flicker-free COB LED that gives it a CRI rating of 92 and a TLCI rating of 94.
The Stella 8000 has a wide 120-degree beam that can be narrowed with an optional 50-degree optic or softened with an optional diffuser. The light is also dimmable either continuously or in steps. To lengthen the LED life, the Stella 8000 employs an integrated, low-decibel, variable-speed fan that is thermally activated when the unit exceeds 5600 lumens. The durably built housing is also IP54 weather resistant for use in inclement conditions.
The Stella 8000 is powered by a built-in battery that charges in two hours to full power and gives you a runtime of 50-245 minutes depending on the power level selected. You can also run the light from a D-Tap external battery source for longer shoots. Additionally, you can use mains power anywhere in the world thanks to the inclusion of a multi-voltage AC power supply. The Stella 8000 also comes with a YS Mount Pro, C-Stand Mount, and a high-leverage handle to quickly and easily mount it on a stand or other support.
Operating on the 2.4 GHz frequency, the Elinchrom EL Remote Control for Stella Pro RF LED Lights from Light & Motion can wirelessly turn the lights on or off, as well as control the light intensity at distances up to 656'. The remote features 20 channels to avoid interference with other shooters, and its four groups allow for multiple setups. The EL Remote runs on an integrated Li-Po (lithium-atom polymer) battery that's capable of 16 hours of continuous transmission before requiring a two-hour charge via USB.
The 4-Way Barndoors for Stella 2000 and 5000 LED Heads from Light & Motion allows you to control and shape the light beam of these fixtures while containing spill light. The robust press-on design mounts quickly and securely onto the Stella face bezel and features the DM (Direct Mount) interface which allows additional DM light modifiers to be attached.
The Light & Motion Fresnel Lens for Stella 2000 and 5000 LED Lights narrows the beam angle and creates a focused look with high contrast and sharp shadows. The lens has a press-on design for fast attachment or detachment.
Providing a smooth beam with gentle fall-off, the 50-Degree Optic DM from Light & Motion tightens the 120-degree beam angle of the Stella Pro RF, Stella Pro, and Stella 2000 to 50 degrees for selective lighting. Use requires the separate purchase of the Barn Doors Light Modifier with Direct Mount (DM). Alternately, the 50-Degree Optic can be used in combination with Elinchrom light shaping tools or third-party softboxes to further soften their light output.
Compatible with Stella 2000, Stella Pro, and Stella Pro RF LED lights, the Speedring Gel Holder from Light & Motion attaches firmly to the fixture's bezel and allows the use of Chimera softbox speedring adapters. The included gel frame accepts 3x3" hard gel filters.
Created to produce soft, omni-directional light using the Stella Pro RF, Stella Pro, and Stella 2000 LED fixtures, the Dome Diffuser DM from Light & Motion widens the beam angle and diffuses the output of these lights. The dome must be used with the separately-purchased Barndoor Modifier 82mm with Direct Mount and can be used with third-party softboxes to further soften light output.
