JVC GY-HM250 Overview

Stream 4K video and enable a single operator to add lower-thirds and titles while recording, with no external character generator or switcher required, with the GY-HM250W UHD 4K Streaming Camcorder from JVC. The camera is designed to be easy for one nontechnical camera operator to set up and shoot, record, and stream video in any house of worship environment.

The GY-HM250W is a full-featured pro camcorder that features a 1/2.3" sensor, can stream video directly to the internet, and captures up to UHD 4K 4:2:2 video at 24/30p. This versatile camera offers you the option of recording UHD 4K at rates up to 150 Mb/s to SDXC Class 3 cards or up to 70 Mb/s to SDXC/SDHC Class 10 cards. In HD mode, custom graphics can be created and controlled via a browser-controlled tablet or smartphone. The GY-HM250W also comes with preinstalled color schemes and the ability to upload icons or logos to add a personalized look to your footage.

An integrated 12x zoom lens with a tele-macro function provides a 35mm equivalent focal range of 29.6 to 355mm, and a 24x dynamic zoom mode is available when recording in HD. For composing and monitoring video, the camcorder features a 3.5" LCD, a 0.24" viewfinder, and a smart focus assist function. Additional features include dual SDHC/SDXC card slots, two internal ND filters, and a built-in stereo microphone. Designed to fit into professional workflows, the JVC GY-HM250W camcorder comes with 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs and dual XLR audio inputs.

It also features optional IP streaming via separately available Wi-Fi, wired Ethernet, or 4G LTE adapters for Full HD streaming in the field directly from the camcorder and remote camera control and monitoring from your mobile device or laptop. Compatible with RTMP, Zixi, and Wowza streaming, the GY-HM250W offers one-click zeroconf configuration when using a common LAN between cameras. A firmware update brings Facebook Live integration to the camera, streamlining the connection process.

A top handle unit with two integrated XLR audio inputs, an SSL-JVC50 battery, and an AC adapter are included with the camera.

Note:
Streaming requires a connection and the use of a wireless LAN, wired Ethernet, or 4G LTE to USB 2.0 Type-A adapter.

How well would this camera's video match the JVC GY-HC550? We have 2 550's, looking for a compact camera for independent shooting but to also fill in as 3rd camera on multi-cam shoots.
Asked by: cheryl
The JVC GY-HM250 has a smaller sensor than the JVC GY-HC550, so it won't do as well in low light as the 550 does. That may be one of the biggest differences you will notice between the two cameras. Otherwise, since they are both JVC cameras, there shouldn't be too much of a color difference between the two.

Does the Sportzcast scoreboard overlay work when recording in 4K or only at 1080p?
Asked by: Jerel
The 4K and 1080p output is independent from the Sportzcast products. Sportzcast Scorebot data is natively integrated with most major sports production, broadcast & coaches tool platforms.

I love the camera but I’m having trouble with the sound quality. We purchased the mic adapter but the sound comes through low in a church service. Am I suppose to have a direct connection or should it be loud with out it?
Asked by: U
The model of this camera I purchased came with an XLR input module (shown in the picture on top.) We run mic cables from mixer to camera for best quality. Check the switches to make sure they are in position for mic or line depending on what you are using. Depending on your mic, you may need the 48V phantom power on. Also, gain can be adjusted manually or automatically. Check to make sure that switch is set how you want it. Good luck!

This is a question about the functionality of the product. 1. Is YouTube live broadcasting possible with only one JVC GY-HM250U without a capture card? And is it possible to advertise using images during live streaming? 2. What is the common and difference between JVC GY-HM250U and jvc gy-hm250hw? 3. Is the YouTube live broadcasting possible in common? If so, what is the difference? 4. Is it possible to advertise using images when live streaming only jvc gy-hm250hw?
Asked by: Dae Sung
You will just need BH #JVHD65U to be able to stream with this camera. It will go to Youtube without the need for an additional capture card. The difference between this model and the model that ends in HW is HW stands for House of Worship. It has a graphics package geared towards Houses of Worship. https://bhpho.to/3mPSo21
