NOT A true AC Unit It'sUseless if Your PB1, PB2 Battery Dies

The PB1 or PB2 units go below this one. I bought this for my studio because the weakness of the Quantum QPaq X system is poor battery life. Unfortunately I learned the hard way that if your battery dies, you cannot use this "AC" module. Your flashes will not charge or fire. End os game. Thois "AC module" will not overide a dead battery to power your flash. It is not a true AC Power unit. In fact, I dont know what it's function is over the charger that comes with the top module unit. It's basically an expensive paer weight, useless accessory if you dont use you Qpaq regularly and have fresh PB2 batteries (as a regular working pro might). You may wish to conatct quantum instruments to see about the Pure AC unit instead it's the PR-4 module, part number860216.

I use it on location and studio settings when power outlet is available. This unit serves as power supply and battery charger unit at the same time.

question

Is the QPAX with AC-module + command + battery-module the only solution for battery systems ?1000 USD that allow to use AC and recharge batteries at same time? Pretty expensive and quite old. Is there any market breaker in this niche since 2009?

No - I have six of these for travel in various parts of the world and the charging while shooting is OK but the battery still diminishes if you shoot more than 200 frames fer hour
