Areca ARC-4038 Overview

Expand your storage with the 12-Bay 12 Gb/s SAS Expander JBOD Tower Enclosure from Areca. This enclosure allows you to equip your system with a wide range of SAS and SATA drives, giving IT professionals full control of configuration settings.

This 12-bay enclosure is able to support 2.5- and 3.5-inch SAS and SATA drives, allowing you to equip your system with various hard-disk and solid-state storage solutions scaled to your business needs. A total of four SFF-8644 ports are available, two of which are dedicated to host-in capabilities and two providing expansion-out connections for daisy-chaining additional units. RJ11 and RJ45 LAN ports enable you to manage your system and set parameters with CLI support. Two 2700rpm fans keep your drives nice and cool, extending the lifespan of your equipped drives. Per-drive LED status indicators feed you information about each drive, so you are always aware of your system's performance.

Plug-and-play design enables you to easily hot swap your drives to change capacity without shutting down your entire system
You can add additional ARC-4038 units with daisy-chain capabilities, ideal for larger or expanding business environments
Transfer speeds are dependent on what type of drive you use, with SAS and SATA drives experiencing up to 12 and 6 Gb/s speeds respectively, you can equip your business with a wide range of storage solutions
Several ports and protocols are designed to simplify your setup and easily maintain your system including in-band SAS port, out-of-band RS-232 serial port, CLI through RS-232 serial port, alarm buzzer, and external SAS port LED indicators
