Easyrig Minimax Overview

Ideal for documentaries, news, events, and more, the Easyrig Minimax with Quick Release is designed for productions requiring extensive handheld camerawork with cameras weighing 4.4 to 15.4 lb. Rather than uncomfortably handholding your camera and supporting the weight with your arms, the Minimax redistributes the weight of your camera setup through the body harness. Taking the weight off your arms enables you to hold the camera steady for longer periods of time while reducing fatigue. Note that this Minimax quick release version does not include the standard camera hook.
Increased Stability
  • The Minimax not only redistributes your rig weight but also increases the stability of your shots.
  • The support cable, while transferring the weight to the harness, also adds a point of contact, reducing vibrations.
  • A redesigned spring system results in smoother cable movement with reduced friction.
  • A conical wheel unrolls the rope with increasing force as it is unraveled.
Pivoting Arm with Quick Release
  • The pivoting upper arm is borrowed from the Easyrig 3 Cinema model.
  • The pivot enables you to swing the camera to the side or even have it sit on your shoulder.
  • Mount and detach your camera easily using the included quick release system.
Adjustable Weight Range
  • Turn the knob at the back of the Minimax to adjust the rig to your camera weight.
  • An overload protection system will trip if the maximum weight capacity is exceeded.
Carrying Case
  • Includes a duffle-style case for carrying the Minimax from one location to the next.

If you have to jump in a car to film, can you keep the EasyRig on you?
Asked by: Laura
The Easyrig Minimax with Quick Release would not work well inside vehicles. I'm sure it would need to be removed and stored first. However if there is a sunroof you could stand in. Or used a Pickup truck bed to stand in, either of these locations would provide sufficient room.

I ordered this Easyrig. It is very handy. But now I need a Stabilizer. I am consider the DJI Ronin SC 2. My camera is the Panasonic Lumix GH5s with a Smallrig cage. Can I attach this camera with the cage to the Ronin SC 2 so that I can attach the quick release ball studs?
Asked by: Ali
If you are asking about the compatibility of the quick release system of this stabilizer with that of the DJI Ronin RSC 2, they employ different quick release systems which are, unfortunately, not compatible.

Can you set this up with a ronin rs2 or is it just camera body
Asked by: Vincent
You could probably do it using the gimbal in underslung mode, but it might be a bit awkward. I have only used attached a full size gimbal (like the Ronin 2) to the Easyrig.

What are the pros/cons of the quick release vs. the standard hook version? If it matters, I plan to use this with a Canon C300 Mk III.
Asked by: Danny Grizzle
I find the ball that screws onto the camera keeps coming loose (unscrewing) half way through the day I almost lost the camera. Can't believe there isnt some sort of locking washer. Am I the only one who has this problem?
