B&H has put together this ARRI M18 HMI with EB MAX High Speed Electronic Ballast Kit to offer a plug-and-play solution to users who require a great deal of light. The kit includes the M18 HMI 1800W lamp head, an EB MAX 1.8 High Speed Electronic Ballast, head-to-ballast cable, and a set of four-way barndoors.
ARRI's M18 HMI Lamphead (110/220 VAC) is a newly designed, more efficient lamp head built to work with a new power class of lamp: the 1800W SE HMI (not included), which has an average life of 750 hours, a luminous efficacy of 92 lumens/watt, and a Color Rendering Index (CRI) greater than 90 at 6000K. The M18 is an open-face, lensless fixture that combines the characteristics of a PAR and a Fresnel, creating diverging rays of light to produce a very crisp shadow. It can operate on a 20A circuit. This lamp has a beam angle (HPA) of 20 to 60° with a wide usable field angle. The lamphead is silver.
This is an ARRI Head to Ballast Cable. The 50' (15.2 m) long cable is compatible with 575, 1200 and 1800W heads such as the ARRISUN 5, 12 Plus, 18, and 40/25 heads. It's also compatible with the ARRIMAX M18, the ARRI X X5 and X12, D5 and D12 Fresnels and the Compact 575 and 1200 heads.
Optimized for ARRI's M8 and M18 as well as the True Blue D5 and D12 HMI lampheads, this EB MAX 1.8 High Speed Electronic Ballast will safely power up your fixture while also providing plenty of advanced features to improve performance. It works with lampheads ranging from 575W up to 1800W and offers AutoScan for optimizing light quality, even when working at frequencies up to 1200 Hz. Other built-in features include an Active Line Filter and Compensation of Cable Losses, ensuring light quality is consistent and that the power supplied is appropriate, even over longer distances. DMX control is provided as well, allowing from dimming from 50-100%, on/off controls, and the ability to adjust the operation mode and frequency. Additionally, it has a low frequency setting for minimizing noise and an array of LED status indicators for quickly viewing settings.
The ARRI 4-Leaf Barndoors fit both the T5 and ST2 Fresnel fixtures. The barndoors attach to the front of the fixture and restrict light from areas of a set. ARRI barndoors are heat resistant and rotatable. Other lights that these barndoors fit include are the L-series L10, M-series M18, ARRISUN 18 EVENT, True Blue D25, and Compact 2500 Theater.
