I have been happy with products I've purchased from B&H in their store in NYC. This is the first product I purchased on-line and I couldn't be more unhappy. This product did not fit the rifle for which it was advertised. WORSE, though, to return it you must use the ORIGINAL SHIPPING CONTAINER AND PACKING MATERIAL. NO OTHER RETAILER WITH WHOM I HAVE DEALT HAS THIS UNREASONABLE REQUIREMENT. I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING ANYTHING FROM B&H IN THE FUTURE.
I'll echo others who have reviewed this product: it needs better installation instructions from the manufacturer. The current one was just bad. All that said, I managed to complete the installation and tested at the range twice. It is holding steady, and I am hoping it will continue to do so. Difficulty and confusion during the installation come from the position of the camming screw. In the end the position of the camming screw depends on how you set the windage set screw to get near zero windage on the scope. Surely the wall thickness of all SMLE won't be the same to thousandth inch specs. On mine the camming screw just shot pass the wall and as you tighten it will hug the wall. As in the title, so far so good, and good luck to you all. The manufacturer claimed three-point attachment, but in fact it's only two. The windage set screw doesn't count as one. Furthermore, can you really claim a camming screw a point of attachment? It's up to interpretation.
