The cap's mounting ring attaches to the eyepiece without tools or any modification to the scope housing. It is operated with one hand and can be set to flip open in any direction for maximum comfort and easy usability
Without any hesitation I recommend the Kahles ocular lens cap for its effective seal against dust, grit and smudging fingers. The ocular cap and the objective cap can be fitted on the ocular after you have set the diopter. The flip-up can be fitted to flip sideways and out of the line of vision you need to see the optical scope turrets and bubble levels, etc. The snap closed position is a great seal and the spring mechanism to flip open the cap is excellent, even in windy conditions. Since the Kahles optical scopes allow you to but the scopes with the windage turret on the left side or the right side, you can rotate the cap's opening to the side that is the least obscuring of information you want to see. My Kahles 525i DLR and the Kahles 624i scopes have the windage turret on the left side so the ocular and objective lens caps are flipped open on the right side of the scope where only the illumination turret is set.
I've owned plenty of flip up scope covers buy NEVER any that were as well made as these. I know it may be odd to say these are fantastic, but they most certainly are. Expensive but worth it!
