This camera rig is designed to enable handheld shooting with shoulder support while providing mounting possibilities for 15mm rod-based accessories, such as a follow focus and a matte box.
The cage helps protect the camera and features 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads for the addition of camera-mountable accessories such as extension arms, a light, or a monitor. The top handle features a smooth, wood-lined handgrip and multiple 1/4"-20 threads, a 15mm rod port, and two shoe mounts. The cage mounts onto the baseplate using its Arca-type plate, and the baseplate provides LWS rod ports for the included 15mm rods that measure 18" in length. The comfortable shoulder pad mounts onto the rods to keep your rig secure on your shoulder for long shoots. The back pad mounts onto the shoulder pad and provides mounting for optional counterweights.
The handgrips mount onto the front of the rods and feature spring-loaded push buttons so they can be adjusted on the fly without having to loosen a screw or bolt. They can also be taken off completely to suit certain shooting styles or to use the rig mounted on a tripod.

The full-frame design protects your camera while leaving its controls, ports, memory card slot, battery compartment, lens release button, and camera hot shoe easily accessible. All doors and locks are fully usable when the camera is in the cage so you can operate the camera without having to remove the cable doors.
Mounting options include a cold shoe mount, numerous 1/4"-20 threaded holes, and two 3/8"-16 ARRI-style locating holes, allowing for easy rig expansion. On the underside there are one 3/8"-16 and four 1/4"-20 threaded holes for mounting the cage on an optional quick release tripod plate.
The cage secures your camera via a bottom 1/4"-20 screw and is designed to provide a solid, twist-free connection even when using heavier lenses. A locking system holds the camera's cables in place to prevent accidental pullouts and protect your camera's ports. The camera's strap hooks can remain attached when the camera is mounted in the cage.

This pair of 15mm Aluminum Rods from SHAPE connects to your camera rig, extending it and letting you add compatible accessories. With these two rods and a few fundamental accessories, you can begin building your own rig from scratch.
The rods are each 15mm in diameter, 18" long, hollow, non-threaded, and made of reliable aluminum with a silver finish.
The Shape Quick Handle + Rod Block is a professional video stabilization accessory with 2 camera handles, each providing an individual rotation angle of 360°. You can attach the handle to the camera platform using a simple screw knob. A simple push button located at the articulation allows easy attachment and removal.
Combined with the anodized aluminum Rod Block, the Quick Handle offers composite camera support for all 15mm rods. You can achieve precise positioning by sliding the Quick Handle along the rods and tightening the small red knob located on the Rod Block. With 2 screw-threaded holes, the Rod Block provides for attachment of components such as the Quick Handle.
The SHAPE Mini Composite Shoulder Pad is a comfort-padded and comfort-shaped shoulder pad for the back of your camera rig. Outfitted with a 15mm-mount SHAPE Rod Block, the pad attaches right onto a pair of 15mm rods, slides into the best position on them, and tightens in place by a quality lever. It also has a black Screw Knob under which you can add a SHAPE Counter Weight or a SHAPE Back Pad, both optional and both back-supported accessories that work as extensions of the shoulder pad. The Screw Knob's screw is a 1/4"-20 screw. If you remove the Screw Knob, you'll have yourself a 1/4"-20 screw-hole to add various 1/4"-20-mount accessories into.
The Back Pad from SHAPE is a standard rig component included with most SHAPE camera rigs. Its design features a powder coated anodized aluminum plate and arm which are attached to a thick padding on the side facing the user. The pad is easy to both attach and remove from your rig, and it supports the SHAPE BOX attachment. Additionally, the pad's position can be adjusted to the user's preference – up to 2" vertically and 360° horizontally.
