BenQ LU785 Overview

Enjoy bright, high-resolution images and presentations in nearly any environment with the BenQ LU785 6000-Lumen WUXGA Laser DLP Projector. Its 6000 lumens of brightness overcomes ambient light in many situations, while its dynamic contrast ratio of up to 3,000,000:1 helps keep images and text clear and distinct. The projector's 1.15 to 1.9:1 throw ratio and 1.65x zoom provide a range of installation options.

The LU785 has composite video, VGA, and three HDMI inputs to support both analog and digital video sources. One HDMI input is MHL-compatible to allow wired connection to your compatible mobile device. Its VGA output allows you to daisy-chain multiple projectors or displays to show the same video source, and the 1/8" audio output can connect to external speakers. It is controllable via Ethernet or RS-232 and includes a remote control.

Enhanced Brightness
The virtually zero-deviation alignment of the BlueCore laser diodes helps boost luminous flux into the light tunnel to produce up to 6000 lumens of brightness. This brightness level makes the LU785 well-suited for use in comfortably lit medium-sized conference rooms.
Secondary Yellow-Infused Color Wheel
Dual synchronized BlueCore color wheels use an additive yellow segment, simulating the RGBY spectrum for augmented chromatic performance that achieves up to 96% of Rec.709 color coverage.
Hermetically Sealed DLP Chip
The DLP chip is hermetically sealed to resist heat to help it provide up to 100,000 hours of life without degradation.
Infographic Mode for Enhanced Presentation Quality
Infographic mode is designed to showcase text and graphics in detail, and Vivid mode helps provide augmented color performance during video or image presentations.
Laser-Enabled High Dynamic Contrast
The laser light source enables the projector to achieve up to a 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for deep blacks, rich colors, and fine subtle details. It also features spontaneous response, requiring no wait to turn on or resume from blanking for flexible performance.
Multiple Lighting Modes
The LU785 has a variety of lighting modes to optimize the projected image in numerous ambient lighting situations while also optimizing energy consumption and extending the projector's lifespan.
Up to 20,000 Hours of Laser Performance
The BlueCore line of projectors can deliver up to 20,000 hours of performance. The laser light source is engineered to resist color decay over time, making the LU785 a viable choice for use in image blending setups without worrying about different projectors producing different brightness levels over time.
DLP Technology
The LU785 uses a single-chip DLP designed to produce true-to-life colors and legible text with virtually no blurring, shadowing, or interference patterns. The DLP chip can last up to 100,000 hours without degradation.
Dustproofing for Severe Conditions
The LU785 is designed with sealed laser modules and enclosed light engines to help protect the DMD chip, color wheel sensor, laser light source, and other optical components. The design has passed the JIS Class IP5X dust chamber test standard.
360° and Portrait Projection Help Accommodate Diverse Spaces
BlueCore projectors can be tilted 360° vertically and horizontally, allowing projection onto ceilings, walls, floors, or angled surfaces to fulfill nearly any projection requirement.
Image Shrinking, Zoom, and Lens Shift
The horizontal and vertical lens shift options, as well as 1.65x zoom, help you align images in nearly any challenging venue, such as when lights or vents are located in the mounting area. Lens shift enables you to move the image up or down, while the zoom offers a wider range of throw distances for installation flexibility in various scenarios. Additionally, digital image shrinking lets you shrink the image to 80% of its original size in 0.5% increments via the OSD menu.
Image Calibration for Projection Alignment
The LU785 is equipped with a two-dimensional keystone correction range of ±30° to counteract the trapezoid effect, which occurs when a projector is installed off-center. You can also use Corner Fit to adjust each corner independently to achieve your desired image geometry.
Designed for Comprehensive Control System Compatibility
The LU785 is compatible with a number of projector control systems, including Extron, Crestron, AMX, and PJ-Link for network control via LAN, making it simple to integrate into corporate network infrastructures. When there is no LAN infrastructure, the projector also supports RS-232 for long-distance installations up to 49'.
Firmware Upgrade via LAN
Administrators can centrally upgrade the firmware on the projector via LAN, deploying the latest updates to multiple compatible devices on the same network at once.
Centralized Control with BenQ MDA Software
BenQ centralized control software is a management tool for computers that enables remote and centralized management of multiple digital projectors by IT administrators and technicians over a local network. The management capabilities include the ability to remotely monitor, control, and configure projectors individually or as groups.
Compatible with InstaShow Equipment for Wireless Presentations
Separately available InstaShow equipment is a zero-software solution that allows up to 32 presenters to connect from any compatible device. InstaShow requires no driver installation and is compatible with virtually any OS or hardware platform, making it easy for presenters to wirelessly take turns delivering presentations. The LU785 has a designated space for the InstaShow module for a streamlined appearance.
