A variant of the US Army & Navy standard-issue AN/AVS-6(v)/9 series Aviator Night Vision Imaging System (ANVIS), the AGM Apache A9 Aviator Gen 3 Level 1 Autogated Night Vision Goggle is designed and built to accommodate the unique needs of both fixed and rotary pilots & aviators. The Apache is outfitted with a counterweight for comfortable helmet mounting and 1x magnification in a spacious 40° field of view that allows for optimum situational awareness.
This version of the Apache features 3rd generation autogated image intensifier tubes that offer peak performance versus earlier generations with exceptional resolution and clarity. The tube condition is designated as Level 1: Representing the cleanest tube without spots for the clearest views.
It has up to 10° of tilt adjustment to compensate for different helmet fits and styles with a wide 52-72mm interpupillary distance adjustment to get the perfect fit to a user's eye. Its -6 to +2 dioptric correction allows focusing compensation, even if the user's eyesight isn't perfect. Once properly adjusted it has an extra-long 27mm of eye relief for maximum comfort with a close focus distance of under 10 inches. Water and fogproof to mil spec standards to withstand the elements, the Apache runs on four included readily available AA batteries and comes with a helmet mount assembly.
