AGM Daytime 8x36 Overview

Designed for most conventional observation applications, the AGM 8x36B Daytime Binoculars are engineered to be an invaluable addition to any hiking, hunting, birding, shooting, surveillance, or tactical kit. This model is outfitted with a general-purpose ranging reticle specifically designed to enable fast and easy estimation of the range to, and size of, subjects such as people, boats, buoys, game animals, and landmarks.

The binocular's optics are anti-reflection multi-coated to maximize light transmission through the light path, with an angle of view that approaches wide angle to provide sweeping views of the terrain. When coupled with the traditional BAK4 Porro prism light path, they present the user with an immersive observational experience defined by bright and clear high-contrast views and accurate color rendition. Instead of the more conventional center focusing mechanism, each eyepiece is individually focusable to allow users to achieve the sharpest views possible even if they normally wear corrective lenses.

Complementing the optical performance are construction details that allow this binocular to withstand the rigors of the outdoors. The chassis is made of a lightweight and impact-resistant aluminum alloy that is wrapped in a rubber armor that offers improved grip security, especially in cold and wet weather. Its optical tubes are nitrogen filled to be resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme temperature changes and environmental conditions and sealed to an IP67 rating so they are dustproof and submersible to 3.3' (1m) for up to 30 minutes. A one-piece eyepiece rainguard attaches to the neck strap, and objective lens caps are tethered to the chassis at the center hinge so users have fast access to them and they can't be lost in the field.

Optical Performance
  • Moderate 8x magnification brings subjects in close for observation without sacrificing the field of view
  • Mid-sized 36mm objective lenses draw in more light than compact models without the bulk and weight of larger objectives
  • Traditional Porro prism optical path produces a rich depth of field to more easily discern the relative distances between objects in the field of view
  • BAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortion
  • Anti-reflection multi-coated optics maximize light transmission, improve color rendition accuracy, enhance contrast, and improve clarity
  • Generous 367.5' field of view at 1000 yards
Use and Handling
  • Individually focusing eyepieces enable precise tack-sharp views
  • In-view rangefinder reticle allows user to estimate range to, and size of, subjects such as game animals, boats, buoys, and people
  • Fold-down rubber eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewear
  • Integrated tripod adapter mount on front of bridge hinge allows binocular to be attached to a tripod to reduce arm fatigue and vibrations
  • 16mm eye relief gives users the room to back off the eyepieces for more comfortable viewing with reduced eyestrain, especially during long observation sessions
  • Wide 4.4mm exit pupil covers most pupils as they open and dilate in low light
