The C6 from Waves is a plug-in based on the company's C4 processor. The C6 takes the functionality of the C4 and adds two additional floating bands plus a sidechain feature for one-stop vocal and instrument shaping. Perfect for de-essing and de-popping in the studio or onstage, the C6 provides all the multiband compression and dynamic equalization needed to control, tame, and shape sound.
For mixing and mastering in the studio, the C6 allows for creative compression, dynamic EQ, flexible side chaining, and more. For FOH and monitor mixers, the plug-in provides control over dynamics and EQ, from reducing crowd ambience to in-depth vocal shaping. For auto-ducking of music and ambience under speech in post, the C6 sidechain provides the ability to carve out just the vocal frequency range, instead of attenuating the entire signal.
Element 2.0 from Waves is an analog-style polyphonic instrument designed to deliver the fat, warm sounds of classic analog synthesizers combined with the flexibility and control of a software instrument. Using the company's Virtual Voltage technology, the instrument includes five integrated effects, a sixteen-step sequencer, MIDI learn for all the controls, and a large, editable preset library. Editing the searing leads, gritty basses, lush pads, electro-percussion, sequential motions, and effects is easy thanks to a single-page user interface.
H-Delay from Waves is a hybrid delay plug-in that features old school PCM42-style effects like filtering, flanging, and phasing, along with slap-back echo, ping-pong delay, and tempo-sync with modulation. The plug-in has full MIDI support.
An intuitive interface aids in quickly creating an effect using a comprehensive set of controls and includes a tap tempo pad for manually tapping in a tempo. Internal or host-to sync is also available, and the high- and low-pass filters can be linked.
The L3 Multimaximizer from Waves is a plug-in that performs multi-band peak limiting, delivered in two versions. The Multimaximizer and Ultramaximizer plug-ins both utilize the Peak Limiting Mixer (PLMixer) engine with the only difference being less control provided on the Ultramaximizer.
The plug-in uses linear phase crossover filters to divide the audio spectrum into five bands. The PLMixer then uses psychoacoustic criteria to intelligently decide how much attenuation to apply to each band so that all available headroom is used.
The result is that inter-modulation is minimized and overall loudness is maximized, while brick-wall limiting and a single master threshold control are both maintained. With its transparent operation, brick-wall limiting, dithering, and noise shaping control, the L3 is able to function as a complete mastering processor.
MV2 from Waves is a compressor plug-in that is as effective as it is deceptively simple. With high and low level compression controlled by a streamlined interface, the plug-in is the simplest, most flexible way to control sound using intuitive dual faders for quick dynamic optimization.
TransX from Waves is a processor plug-in that modifies the shape of transients, either sharpening or softening the edges. Use of the software allows for breathing life into dull sounding drum loops, accentuating or attenuating instrumental attacks, and modifying room acoustics. The plug-in can also highlight sustains and can be used on individual tracks or, with judicious use, on complete mixes.
