If you're unfamiliar with drones and have concerns of their complexity, lay your fears to rest because DJI includes a Matrice 100 quadcopter that is pre-assembled and ready to fly right out of the box. DJI specifically designed the drone to be stable, reliable, and easy to fly. You even get the DataMapper InFlight app for your compatible Android device, which can automate the entire piloting process for you.

The Matrice 100 comes with two different X3 gimbal cameras. One features a visual sensor for collecting data on physical attributes of your plants and 3D crop drainage mapping. The other features a multispectral sensor which uses various light wavelengths to give insightful data on crop health, weeds, weather damage, and more. This information can be run through DataMapper Standard's 11 different crop analytics tools to output meaningful and actionable data. You get a free subscription for one year.

Visual Sensor

Like a regular video camera, the visual sensor films actual footage of your crops and is ideal for the following tasks:

  • Plant counting and spacing
  • 3D drainage mapping
  • Plant height and biomass measurements
  • Canopy coverage density

Multispectral Sensor

The multispectral sensor utilizes different light wavelengths to give you a more detailed picture of your crop's inner workings. It's ideal for the following tasks:

One Year of DataMapper Standard

Working together with your Matrice 100, DataMapper Standard takes the data it collects and helps you process it into actionable data. It includes 2D/3D orthomosaic map processing, 150GB of storage, and 11 different crop analytics tools. Some of the crop tools in the library include:

  • Normalized Difference Vegetation Index: Robust over a wide range of conditions and correlated with leaf area values and plant vigor
  • Enhanced Normalized Difference Vegetation Index: Similar to NDVI, but uses more visible light channels to better isolate plant health indicators
  • Green Normalized Difference Vegetation Index: Indicator of senescence (stress and late growth stages prior to harvest). It identifies areas of improper water and nitrogen uptake, and optimizes asset usage
  • Difference Vegetation Index: Used for fast delineation of canopy cover that quickly depicts water, shadows, soil, and vegetation
  • Green Difference Vegetation Index: Predict nitrogen requirements for corn after mapping the crop using a separate vegetation index (such as DataMapper's canopy map); ground truth [JF1] must be obtained before initiating an overview of nitrogen content
  • Renormalized Difference Vegetation Index: Insensitive to the effects of soil and sun viewing geometry, RDVI is ideal for tall crops with good spacing between rows. This is correlated with leaf area values and plant vigor
  • Visible Atmospherically Resistant Index: Vigor diagnosis tool based on the greenness/yellowness of the canopy cover
  • Normalized Green Red Difference Index: Similar to VAR, but shows the relationships between NGRVI values, seasonal change of vegetation, and ground surface with high temporal resolution

DataMapper InField Desktop Application

The DataMapper InField application lets you view drone footage and data immediately as it's captured in the field. You can see the flight path and crop coverage, as well as add ground control points to the area. The interface is designed to be intuitive and it is compatible with any drone you may have.

DataMapper InFlight App

The DataMapper InFlight app not only lets you automate the piloting process with your compatible Android device, but it will also let you monitor the flight as it goes. You can monitor the Matrice 100's health in the air and activate emergency actions such as Emergency Land or Return to Home if needed. If a flight plan has been created, you can even use InFlight without an internet connection.

DJI TB48D Flight Battery for Matrice 100 Quadcopter

The TB48D Flight Battery from DJI is specifically designed for use in the Matrice 100 quadcopter. This intelligent flight battery keeps you informed about its performance during a flight, including real-time information about remaining battery power. Built-in technology calculates the distance of your aircraft and the estimated time for it to return to home base. Additionally, the battery automatically provides information about the voltage of each cell, the total lifetime charges and discharges, and its overall health and status.
