There is a built in DAC. The Marantz M-CR612 HEOS Network Stereo Receiver with Built-In CD Player is designed to be an affordable, all-in-one receiver. It can play digital sources via optical input. It can play digital files from a flash drive or iPod via USB input. It can play wireless digital sources via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 Connectivity. And, of course, it has a built-in CD player. They don't mention the type of DAC anywhere, but it is capable of audio resolution up to 192kHz/24 bit.
