The normal, closed KP-2 Single Piano-Style Footswitch Pedal from Kurzweil is a full-sized, piano-style sustain pedal. It can be used as an expression pedal to sustain notes for keyboard players during practice and performance applications. The pedal is built tough and terminates with a 1/4" TS connector.

All Kurzweil keyboards are 100% compatible with any open or closed momentary pedal/switch as they are equipped with sensing circuitry for sustain pedals. The system automatically senses whether the pedals that are plugged in are either open or closed, and automatically sets itself internally to the proper setting on power up
