I bought two of these for my Hero 5. Both arrived dead on arrival -they will not charge, even though they read 3.6 volts, which should be enough for the protection circuitry to allow charging. They're going back.
OEM quality and fit prevail. Worth the little bit extra.
A good battery that with continual use and recharging has lasted me several years
They are more expensive than the knock-offs, but I wanted to make sure I had a battery that works once I'm in the field. When I need the shot, I don't want to have to worry the battery won't last as long as it should. I wish they came in different colors so I could quickly tell which one was being pulled from the GoPro, and the fresh battery. Better yet, how about an LED readout on the battery to tell me its state of charge.
Needed a few extra batteries for my GoPro, because anybody with a GoPro needs a few extra batteries.

Was so tired of buying aftermarket batteries and then them coming in at 70% when fully charged. I am trying this out and hoping it works better.
This gives the 1 hour of so spec'd recording time in a HERO 7. I have several third party ones that will barely give 20 mins. So all in all, much more cheaper and convenient in the long run to just the genuine stuffs.
