It uses your Pc Gpu Power to Record to a card? can i use It like to a 3 monitor work. kind a laptop showing the scopes linked to a viewsonic monitor for the resolve or Vmix software view and a tv to Full screen the video?
Asked by: Rodrigo
It really uses Thunderbolt 3 tech to be able to do all this. Just keep in mind even with all the outputs it would really be one signal. You can link it to a monitor to really focus on the scopes and a TV to get the full screen.

Is the H.265 hardware encoding useful only when capturing or are there benefits when editing HEVC footage?
Asked by: Anonymous
The benefits of h265 footage are the reduced file sizes and the codec's inherent ability to retain very high quality. However, depending upon the nature of your project, higher, less compressed codecs would still be preferred for editing purposes.

Asked by: ungureanu
I can confirm that using Thunderbolt 3 to TB 2 works. This configuration works flawless for SDR content. However, because of the lack of HDMI 2.0+ in BMD I/O interfaces using TB2, it is not possible to send HDR metadata to the display. Those interfaces are HDMI 1.4. If HDR is not a requirement, this configuration works perfectly. I tested this with the UltraStudio 4K Thunderbolt 2 (rack mount version). I ended up purchasing the UltraStudio 4K Mini TB3 Capture & Playback unit because of the HDR feature.
