This shock mount is not very strong. If you don't have the weight distributed evenly over the mount it won't work very well.

Provides good isolation

With out this or with brand-x isolator I could not touch the handle of my tripod without lots of noise. With this unit as long as I am a bit careful I can pan and tilt with no problems. It also isolates camera controls well. I am using this with a Zoom H1n.

Yes, this Movo Photo Universal Mount can be used with an Olympus LS-P1 audio recorder. The LS-P1 does have a threaded 1/4"-20 mounting point on the back which can be attached to the Movo universal mount.
