Moza's AirCross 2 Professional Kit includes the AirCross 2 gimbal with all its standard accessories plus an iFocus-M Wireless Lens Motor, Arca-Swiss Quick Release Plate, and a shoe-mount Phone Holder. The AirCross 2 supports up to 7 lb loads and offers multiple modes of operation, including creative modes such as Inception mode. In Inception mode, the camera rotates constantly as you hold the gimbal in various positions, most commonly like you would on a jib.

The iFocus-M motor is a lightweight and quiet 15mm rod-mount motor that's powered via a connection to one of the CAN ports of the gimbal. It can be aligned to the focus or zoom ring of your lens and can be controlled by the gimbal handwheel or using an optional Moza hand unit from up to 328' away.

The Arca-Swiss Quick Release Plate makes mounting/dismounting the camera easier, and the Phone Holder can be shoe-mounted to your camera to provide easier access to the included gimbal app.

Moza AirCross 2 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer (Black)

In a sleek and ergonomic design, the Moza AirCross 2, in black, supports up to 7 lb cameras, including wide-body types like the Blackmagic Pocket 4K and those with a built-in grip. It comes with a companion iOS/Android smartphone app that provides many creative features, including an AI calculation function that auto-tunes the gimbal by selecting optimal parameters based on the camera load. The AirCross 2 is designed to hold the camera mounted closer to the tilt motor, allowing for more stability with most cameras, and the camera orientation can be switched between portrait and landscape modes when using the dedicated included bracket. The gimbal also has an angled motor arm in order to allow a clear view of the camera LCD during operation.

The AirCross 2 features a manual lock on each axis that makes balancing your camera easier. You can unlock one axis, balance it, then unlock the next one and so on. When done, a balance check feature will confirm on the gimbal's OLED screen whether all axes are balanced or which one needs adjusting and in which direction. This 3-latch locking system also allows you to lock all the axes during transport so the axes stay firmly in one place. This gimbal has several advanced shooting modes including multiple follow modes, time-lapse capture, Sports Gear mode, and Inception mode, which rotates the gimbal in place.

The AirCross 2 is designed with Moza's Spark Power Supply System 2.0, which consists of a battery with its own USB charging port. The battery can be removed and separately plugged directly into a USB charger, not included. This battery provides up to a 12-hour runtime.

The gimbal controls include a customizable smart wheel, dial wheel, and smart trigger that provide direct control over select camera functions, while the OLED screen provides an intuitive display of the gimbal status and camera parameters. On the bottom of the gimbal handle, there are both a 1/4"-20 and a 3/8"-16 threaded mounting hole for attaching a mini tripod, extension handle, or other accessory.

Moza iFocus-M Wireless Lens Motor

The Moza iFocus-M is a lightweight wireless lens control motor for the Moza Air 2 and AirCross 2 gimbal. Whereas the standard iFocus motor is made of aluminum and features a built-in battery, the iFocus-M has a plastic housing and connects to the gimbal for power via an included, short Multi-CAN cable. The motor mounts on a 15mm rod via a built-in rod port and can be aligned to the focus or zoom ring. It can be controlled by the gimbal handwheel or using an optional Moza hand unit from up to 328' away.

Two iFocus-M motors can be used at the same time with the AirCross 2 because this gimbal offers two Multi-CAN ports. The gimbal handwheel can be used to control one motor and the optional hand unit the other. Alternatively, the handwheel can be switched between controlling one or the other motor via settings changes.

Key Features

  • Lightweight lens control motor for Moza Air 2 and AirCross 2 gimbal
  • 15mm-rod mount
  • Powered via a Multi-CAN port using an included cable
  • Can be controlled by gimbal handwheel or via an optional hand unit from up to 328' away
  • Two units are supported on the AirCross 2, which offers two Multi-CAN ports

Moza AirCross 2 Reviews

Mostly good

The gimbal itself is very good, it's easy to use. I'm using it with my BPCC4K with a SmallRig Half Cage, Lumix G Vario 12-35 lens and counterweights, and it works fine. My only problem with this kit is the iFocus M, which stopped working after a couple of times of use. To my knowledge, I did not use in it in any way as to make it malfunction.

This is my 3rd gimbal. 1st was Z company (for phone/Gopro), which no longer supported and I cannot even download the application to control. Next one was F company (now selling under Manfxxxx as well). The gimbal was shaking really bad even on mirrorless camera (supposed to support heavy DSLR), so I called their support, but no response. Returned it. Now, Moza AirCross2. I've only used for 2 days, so I'll probably have to use it more to find out more about the gimbal, but here is my impression for using it 2 days. Moza AirCross 2 looks solidly built. It's not light as I thought, but arms get less tiresome comparing to other one that I had/returned Charges via USB, and battery can be charged externally (much easier to charge in a car). It also charges while it's on use. I tried on Panasonic Lumix G9 with Leica Lumix 12-60mm lens. the gimbal had minor shake(vibration) at certain angle (i.e. vibrates when tilting gimbal 45 degrees, then stable at 180 - I would expect more share at 180 since it would exert more weight to the motor, but it didn't). I tried with G9 SmallRig cage without using L-bracket that came with the gimbal. Balanced perfectly, but shaky issue at 45 degree, again I updated the firmware and the shakiness went away. So it's good G9 is not listed on the compatible camera list, but figured it may work like GH5. And yes, all function (aperture control, ISO control, shutter release, etc.,) works fine via USB connection There is 3/8 female screw on the gimbal opposite side of the screen. I believe Moza sells accessories to utilize this. I can even customize a handle to use it as Weebill gimbal Phone apps works very well. Subject following and motion remote controlling works very well While L-bracket gives option to rotate camera in portrait mode, it does not work with PeakDesign capture clips. Not friendly at all I have not used the follow focus for I didn't want to bother screwing/unscrewing Manfrotto style to my G9, so I cannot tell anything about follow focus motor. RGB LED ring on controller looks cool, too!

Weak motors, and more substandard engineering mistakes

I balanced my GH5 within what I would consider a good balance. This is not my first gimbal. The gimbal itself was hard to balance, without causing an obstructive pathway for the tilt arm with even a very light lens. The motors are simply not up to the task. If there were more adjustment room on the tilt arm, and more height on the rotational arm, it would not have been an issue. They list the GH5, but I'd suggest the only way to get that to work properly is with one of the pancake lenses available from Panasonic. The 7-14mm zoom was simply too much weight, and it couldn't keep it leveled. Sent back. I really wanted this to work with the Slypod Pro, but I guess I'll use my Zhiyun Weebill gimbal, instead, because it actually works with the quite substantial 10-25mm 1.7 Lumix lens. This would probably work with a smaller camera, like the G7, or perhaps a Sony A6600, or A7 (or one of the other alphas), but the GH5 with a decent cinema lens? Good luck.

My axis won't lock

I haven't used my gimbal yet and I decide to check to make sure everything was working fine, but then I ran into a problem my bottom axis wouldn't lock so the gimbal is useless because it won't let me balance my camera

It will fit like a couple of previous answers. I returned my purchase because I could not get this unit work properly for my Nikon cameras. I tried to use with My D810 and Nikon 1 v3. It worked some time and then immediately went crazy totally off balance. I tried so many times and finally give up. I have high hope for it but was disappointed.

Most likely yea. It can definitely handle the weight and you just need to balance it. Not sure what more there is to this device unless you’re trying to unlock all the features on the interface. But I just use it mainly for the stabilization which is amazing.

can it be used for precision motion controlled movements? like a Geni or other, to create gigapixel style images ?
Asked by: Evan
The Moza AirCross 2 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer Professional Kit (B&H# MOACGN03) is designed to stabilize a camera in response to readings taken by solid state and precisely calibrated accelerometers. It will not be possible to move a camera with the same level of precision when its small nub-like joystick is manually pushed by a person. Especially punctilious gigapixel-style shooters would want to mount the camera and lens so as to center it at the no parallax point (A.K.A. nodal point) of the lens. That would involve positioning it so far backward that it may not balance on the gimbal without significant additional counterweights added in front of the camera. Having said that, if you will use a short lens and overlap your images by a significant amount (and if you do not mind that the tilt will by necessity have to move the camera in an arc) then you may indeed find that you are able to take multiple shots and combine them to make a composite photograph at an especially high resolution. The further the subjects are from the camera, the better that will work.

The AirCross 2 supports up to 7lb payloads. The A6400 and the 18-135mm lens would not be a heavy payload and we think it would work without issues.
