What is a T adapter and how is that different from a regular adapter?
The Metabones Leica M Lens to Canon RF-Mount Camera T Adapter (Black), B&H # MELMEFRBT1, is a standard lens mount adapter designed to connect a Leica M-mount lens to the Canon RF-mount lens mount used on Canon's mirrorless digital cameras. If you need a more economical standard M-mount to RF-mount adapter, the Vello Lens Mount Adapter for Leica M-Mount Lens to Canon RF-Mount Camera, B&H # VELACRLM, or the TTArtisan Leica M Lens to Canon EOS R-Mount Camera Adapter, B&H # TTLMCEOSR, would work for your usage needs. Do note that all of these are manual adapters that do not have electronic contacts and do not transmit information from the lens to the camera. As such, you have to focus the lens manually and set the aperture using the aperture dial built into your lens, and set the exposure on the Canon mirrorless camera manually.

Does it allow focus peaking or focus aid to be operational on a Canon RF (R# to me more specific)?
The Metabones M-to-RF adapter does not influence the availability of focus peaking on your EOS R-series camera, as focus peaking is a sensor-based functionality. However, automated focus aids in some systems (such as automated manual focus magnification) might not be triggered with the adapter mounted.
