Available for download, IK Multimedia AmpliTube's Brian May is an officially licensed collection of amplifier emulations that give you the legendary, instantly recognizable tone of Queen guitarist Brian May. The software provides models of two amplifiers, three cabinets, and five stompbox effects. Brian May and his guitar techs were deeply involved in the emulation of his gear.
For amplifiers, IK Multimedia has provided a model of May's Vox AC30 setup, which actually includes three AC30 amplifiers played at the same time, with a wet-dry-wet effects loop that matches May's chain. The software also gives you the Deacy amp, essentially an old radio that Queen bassist John Deacon modified into a small guitar amp; this amp became the sound of many recognizable Queen songs.
Three cabinet emulations are also on hand, as are five digital stompboxes. One of these stompboxes is worth highlighting in particular, as it aims to give you the tone of Brian May's Red Special guitar.
All of the emulations here have been achieved using IK Multimedia's Dynamic Interaction Modeling, which aims to give you an ultrarealistic timbre. AmpliTube's Brian May operates in AU, VST, and AAX plug-in formats. No previous version of AmpliTube is necessary to use this product.

- 1x6 BM DK: The cabinet section of the BM Deacy amp, featuring a 6" speaker, modeled after the handmade Deacy amp
- Red Special: Created by a detailed study of Brian May’s famous guitar, this helps add the timbre and controls of the Red Special itself
- Treble Booster: Based on the original KAT Treble Booster, this stompbox effect will enrich your guitar tone similar to Brian May’s by boosting it before it reaches the amp
- May Wah: Based on a rackmount Dunlop Cry Baby wah, this effect is modeled in the exact configurations Brian uses to shape his tone
- FOX Phaser: Based on fOXX Foot Phaser, a pedal-controlled phaser with a distinctive sound
- Star Gate: This noise gate helps clean up the signal chain, minimizing the noise feeding Brian’s amp and pedal setup
