  • Adds Remote B (RS-422)

The Canon EU-V1 Expansion Unit 1 mounts onto your C500 Mark II camera and provides increased connectivity, expanding the capabilities of the camera for remote operation as well as live video production. The expansion unit adds three ports: Genlock/Sync Out, Remote B (RS-422), and Ethernet. The Genlock/Sync Out port accepts a genlock signal that slaves your camera to the same time base as the other equipment receiving the genlock signal. Sync Out allows your camera to feed other live production equipment to sync to your camera. The Remote B port allows you to control your camera using RS-422 protocol, while the Ethernet port allows you to connect your camera to a LAN for control and live streaming applications. The ports have rubber covers to protect the connectors from dust intrusion when not in use.

Canon EU-V1 Overview

Genlock is the backbone of live/broadcast production as it ensures that all the production equipment, cameras, and switchers, are running in phase with each other. This prevents jumping images or black frames when switching between sources.

Network configurations are very intuitive and easy. I even put a micro WiFi router with RJ45 on the camera and control it wirelessly using both Browser Remote and XC Protocol. It works perfectly. The new Canon Software Remote Camera Control Application uses the XC Protocol and I have 100% access to the camera menu! Congratulations Canon!
