Edifier R1850DB Overview

Enjoy audio from nearly any wired or Bluetooth source with the black Edifier R1850DB Bluetooth Speaker System. It features optical, digital coaxial, and two stereo RCA inputs, allowing you to have up to four source devices connected for easy switching. The speakers have a 2-way design, and an amplifier is built into the right speaker, which powers the left speaker via the included cable. Each speaker sports a 0.75" silk dome tweeter and a 4.57" mid-woofer.

Remote Control
The R1850DB includes a remote control that allows you to adjust the volume, switch inputs, mute the speakers, and control Bluetooth playback remotely.
Angled Design for Directed Sound
The MDF (medium-density fiberboard) enclosure helps resist distortion and minimize acoustic resonance, and the 10° incline is designed to provide augmented precision. The mid-woofers offer rich lows, while the tweeters provide clear highs.
Bluetooth Connectivity
With Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity, the R1850DB speakers can be paired with any compatible device.

Great Sounding PC Speakers

Great sounding near field PC speakers. Add a 10” sub , or even the T5, to the 1/8” sub port on the speaker and you will be slapp’n if you like a good bottom end. Recommended to use an inexpensive DAC like the Soundavo HP-DAC1 using a USB A to USB B cable like a Monolith and you will like the better sound processing from your PC. Another option is to use a Soundblaster play 3 in between the PC and speakers using one of the cables provided (1/8” to rca) from your headphone port on the PC. These are the latest and greatest speakers from Edifier. If you can spend a little extra it’s worth it.

Bought the Edifier r1280db, really liked the speakers but returned them. Exchanged them for Edifier r1850db and could not be happier. Have several audiophile systems (Krell, Hales, NEAR) but wanted some small, portable with reasonable audio quality. Have really been surprised by how good the speakers are. Very clear and nuanced highs, well balanced mids and decent bass. Yes, there is only so much deep range a 4” woofer can generate, but it sounded natural & reasonably extended without being boomy. The hidden gem is the r1850db’s flexibility. Beyond 2 sets of RCA inputs, the speaker has coaxial and optical inputs, as well as a subwoofer output. I added a B&W ASW300 sub and WOW!! Transformed the performance. Added different CDs players - the sound quality was dramatically effected by the quality of the CD player. Somewhat surprising for a budget powered speaker. Highly recommend the r1850db. You won’t be disappointed.
