PolarPro Slate Reviews
Just what I was looking for
Great quality and looks premium. Perfect.
Great case very sturdy
Great case , very sturdy, looks and feels like very protective to camera sd/xqd/cf cards, build form aluminum
Expensive and unfit for the job.
I bought the case to store CFast 2.0 cards. Upon opening the package, it didn't take long before I decided it was not for me and repackaged it for a return. I could not trust the case with the important job of protecting shot media on location. I originally bought it because it was made of metal and seemed very well-engineered. I figured it had to be good considering it was the most expensive case anywhere. Once the case was in my hands though, I was unable to find anything that I liked about it. I really did not like the way the case opened and closed. The hinge mechanism felt very fragile, with a skinny pin holding everything together. The two halves of the case need to be in a very specific orientation (that does not feel natural, smooth or intuitive at all) in order to close the case. If misaligned, the hinge pin would likely bend, deform and jam up - leaving the case unable to close. This is probably worse than I'm describing, hard to translate into words as it's based on a tactile feeling. I did not get around to actually putting the cards in the case so I can't comment on how they fit. My initial impression though was that the rubber/plastic insert was rough around the edges, hard and almost brittle. It didn't seem to have enough flex to allow easy insertion / removal of cards. Also, this cheap-feeling insert did not make good contact or seal against the rough metal. I assumed the case would be air and watertight when purchasing but after revisiting the specs/overview, I don't think I even see that mentioned in the marketing. So keep in mind that there is likely no seal to prevent any tiny bit of moisture from seeping in, destroying your hot media. I am extra critical considering this is the most expensive case for cards that I found anywhere. The case felt like an unfinished, early-stage prototype, not at all ready for the job of protecting the most important piece of equipment on set - media.

Extra Storage
Good for being able to store my XQD and SD cards in one place. No need to carry two storage devices.
Handy case for mixed card storage
There aren't too many card storage cases that can store SD format and XQD/CDexpress formats - but this case does. Seems to be well made and I'm expecting it to last for a long time!!
Too heavy and bulky
I was looking for something that would hold CF Express and SD cards, and this fits the bill. I was quite excited to receive this, but immediately on taking it out of the box I thought, wow, heavy! It's also bulkier than I'd like, though that alone I could live with; but here I am, spending thousands on lighter cameras and lenses, and then the case is unnecessarily heavy? It's going back. Hoping to find something similar that's half as thick and quite a bit lighter soon. Have a perfect one for CF cards. Fingers crossed someone makes one.
Solid build and Construction.
This compact case is capable of holding CF Express and SD cards within a small form factor to carry dual card slot camera. Contruction of cast aluminum and foam holds the cards securely while still allowing easy removal.
