Bundled together by B&H for your convenience, this Yamaha HS5 Powered Studio Monitor Kit provides everything you need to get started monitoring audio in a pro audio context. You get two HS5 powered studio monitors, two isolation pads for the monitors, and XLR cables.

The monitors, styled in white, have 5" woofers, 1" tweeters, and a frequency response of 54 Hz to 30 kHz. The isolation pads fight against resonant decoupling.

Yamaha HS5 Powered Studio Monitor (Single, White)

The white HS5 Powered Studio Monitor from Yamaha is a 2-way reference speaker that is designed for mixing and monitoring in your home or studio. Equipped with a 70W bi-amplification system that powers a 5" woofer and a 1" tweeter, the HS5 is designed to offer maximum headroom, minimal distortion, and an extended response up to 30kHz. The HS5 has both an XLR and 1/4" TRS input that accept either balanced or unbalanced signals for maximum flexibility in a variety of studio setups.

Low Resonance Enclosure Design
HS Series cabinets are designed to eliminate unwanted resonance and increase the accuracy of sound reproduction to their extreme limit. The enclosures are constructed from a dense MDF with a damped acoustic response. HS Series engineers also employed a traditional three-way mitered-joint technique. Common to architectural design, this construction firmly anchors the corners of the enclosure to improve durability and eliminate unwanted resonance that can influence overall sound
Noise Reduction Technology
Speaker port design can greatly influence the clarity of overall sound. Often a vortex at the either end of the port can generate air vibrations inside of the port, causing unwanted noise. By adopting a noise reduction technology that incorporates an analysis of a visual representation of the sound, Yamaha's engineers are able to control and reduce the vortex. Through this analysis Yamaha has arrived at a port design that reduces noise up to 6dB
Controls and Connectivity
HS Series full-range models feature two response controls with settings that allow them to adapt to the surface acoustics of rooms of varying shape and size. ROOM CONTROL allows you to attenuate the unnatural, exaggerated low-end that can often occur when speakers are placed next to walls, while HIGH TRIM allows for more flexible control of high frequency response. For inputs, HS full-range speakers can accommodate a range of balanced and unbalanced sources such as mixers, keyboards and audio interfaces with XLR and TRS phone jacks

Canare Star Quad 3-Pin XLR Male to 1/4 TRS Male Cable (White, 6')

The white, 6' Canare Star Quad 3-Pin XLR Male to 1/4 TRS Male Cable is handcrafted with superflexible Canare L-4E6S cable and features high-quality Neutrik XLR and TRS phone connectors. The Star Quad series has been engineered to dramatically reduce hum and electromagnetic interference (EMI) for outstanding signal transparency both in the studio and on stage. Designed to virtually eliminate handling noise, this cable is well-suited for connecting a balanced 1/4" TRS audio output, like those found on many mics and instruments, to a balanced XLR input on a mixer, PA speaker, or similar device.

Special crosslinked PE insulation
Hand assembly with true silver solder
Pure performance Neutrik XLR and Neutrik Phone connectors
21 AWG cable with copper conductors
Great for extended cable runs over 25'
Auray IP-S Isolation Pad for Studio Monitor (Small, Single)

The small IP-S Isolation Pad from Auray is a monitor speaker isolation pad made from high-density acoustic foam. It is designed to decouple your monitor speakers from its resting surface by absorbing the monitor's vibrations. This stops reverberation through the desk or speaker stands, therefore preventing unwanted resonance. Removing these unwelcome vibrations results in greater depth of field, tighter low end and transient response, and a higher level of detail across the frequency spectrum.

Set at Three Different Angles
Up position: Angle your speakers up for desktop use
Down position: Angle your speakers down for use on a monitor bridge or shelf
Flat position: Flip the pads upside down to set your speakers flat on adjustable speaker stands
