With shadows being very important to the integrity of a comp, Red Giant VFX Shadow provides an easy way of adding perspective shadows in front of or behind a layer, based on the layer's alpha channel, brightness, and other factors. A plug-in for After Effects, featuring controls for softness, bend, length, color, and other properties, VFX Shadow offers much more than the native After Effects shadow tools provide.
A missing shadow is a sure give away that your composited foreground object wasn't in the original shot. VFX Shadow lets you add the necessary depth to your motion graphics from right within After Effects. You can apply realistic shadows or create stylized looks.

Your download provides you with the latest version of VFX Shadow.
Host Applications
Adobe After Effects CC 2018 and later
Easy User Interface
Shadow's visual user interface makes it easy to grab on the effect and take control. Change the angle, shadow start point, and the bend with simple handles in the After Effects comp window.
Fade and Softness
It's easy to blur or change the opacity of the entire shadow, but one of the unique, powerful aspects of this effect is its ability to blur and fade the shadow as it gets further from the source.
Transform
Shadow makes it easy to manage both scale and offsets for more convincing (or stylized) results.
Bend
Is there a wall behind your foreground object? Shadow can bend the effect to give the illusion that your subject's shadow is cast on the floor and then up a wall.
Color
Change your shadow color, and even have it fade from one color to another based on edge softness. Alternately, you can cast two shadow colors based on the luminance of the source layer.
Motion Blur
Shadow has the ability to add motion blur for even more realism.
GPU-Accelerated
Shadow is GPU accelerated so you'll get fast feedback and rendering.
GPU Requirement
The minimum GPU required is an Intel HD 5000 integrated graphics chip. For NVIDIA, Red Giant recommends 9xx series graphics cards or newer, mobile GPUs, or the professional series Quadro cards. For AMD, 200 series graphics cards or newer are recommended as well as mobile GPUs, or the professional series FireGL cards.
