Several months now, no issues. Not as loud as some people state. I have a solid construction NAS 6 bay and have it sitting on my computer desk as I work. The noise is only when accessing large files and once a week virus scan which is to be expected, other than that all is good.

Well packaged, been using it in a OWC dock (toaster one) and it's been working like a charm. Hopefully, it will be like that for years.

These drives work great in Synology units that Synology has listed as compatible. These drives are usually half the price of Synology branded drives.

I do lots of video production and want my client work to be on as few drives as possible so having this drive helps minimize how many drives I have per client.

Good, strong drives

The Exos drives have always been good for me. They're at a good price, faster speeds than the Iron Wolf or some other brand drives, not loud but not quiet (enterprise drives). I have several in my NAS and all of them have been performing well for several years now. Plus, drives from B&H have the manufacturers 5 year warranty with them.

Love this drive., solid and fast for backup.

I am looking at this drive and the Seagate ...

I am looking at this drive and the Seagate Barracuda pro, both in 14tb. I know this drive is supposed to be for enterprise, but its only $348 vs $500 for the Barracuda Pro. So would it be ok to use this drive in a personal computer for photo and video files, along with some games? I also keep my computer on 24/7 to do backups, virus scans, updates and general maintenance during the night if that matters.
Asked by: Chris
Its a good drive with solid speeds, not as fast as an SSD but should work fine for your uses.

I need a 14tb drive for my Drobo. Are both the Exos 14 & Exos 16 versions compatible? And is there more value in going with the Exos 16 in a Drobo (i.e. will I see much performance increase?)?

Would this work in a OWC ThunderBay 4 48TB 4-Bay Thunderbolt 3 RAID 5 Array? What kind of performance for video editing can I expect?
Asked by: Pallavi
first off RAID5 is a bad idea with size of these drives and time it takes to rebuild. if you review the chances of failure with large drives such as these and times it takes to rebuild. you will see you have a roughly 2 percent of complete raid failure in 5 years and 4% in 10 years. if you use RAID 6 instead the probability goes down to zero. I strongly suggest using RAID6 to store important data. expect around 249 MB/s for RAID6 and 349 MB/s for RAID5

How are these for traveling? I'm planning on using with HD enclosure for field video editing huge 4k capacity videos (10+tb) that no SSD has.
Asked by: Rich
Solid fast and reliable but do remember if you are using on the field you will need an external power source being that this is not a 2.5 nor SSD drive which can run directly off your laptop USB port
