Thunderbolt 3
Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.2 Gen 2 (3.1 Gen 2/3.1) at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.

This is a large RAID array I ordered the 24TB 6-Bay RAID array, with RAID 5 it provided 20TB of capacity. The drive was very fast, but still slower than running SSD. The speed was impressive, although the drive was so loud I could hear it from the other room clicking away. By far the loudest hard drive I've ever had. I ended up returning it because the noise was giving everyone in the house a headache, and ordered a RAID SSD drive in it's place which was 20% more expensive but ran twice as fast and was silent.
I regret this purchase - way too loud

They really screwed up the 32 edition with the controller. It runs hot all the time, so much so that the fan has to run at 2700 rpm just to keep it cool enough. I have a Pegasus2 sitting right next to my 32 and it runs at 1200 rpm. I had Promise RMA replace my 32 once already because of this issue and the replacement does the same thing. Fan runs nearly full speed in a 70 F degree office. For the amount of money spent they should have better designed the cooling or stuck with the old controller. Wish I had bought another Pegasus2 over this leaf blower.

This Thunderbolt 3 enclosure won't support a USB 3.0 computer. Sorry for any inconvenience. The computer itself, has to support a Thunderbolt 3 connection.

Has fan noise issue on Pegasus 32 been resolved? Does the R-8 have the same noise issue?
The Promise Technology Pegasus32 R6 is cooled by a 92mm fan, which when added to the operational noise of six hard drives is naturally fairly loud. The manufacturer has not provided a spec for the ambient noise level of the unit, nor have they made reference to any changes in fan noise compared to previous models.
