I've been using super and mafer clamps to rig this light the past few years and it works... but this allows you to dial in the angle of the light on the stand faster and more efficiently than those clamps. Light snaps right in, I just wish the grid Nanlite make worked easier with this holder. This falls on Nanlite dropping the ball on the grid more so than the Pavotube Holder. Expensive, versatile, and solid.
This one is really useful. I like it better than the other ones I have but STILL it feels the design is just almost there. For a compact lighting kit itis a bit big and bulky in storage. Feels it could have been made a little smaller on some parts to fit the Nanlight tube bags. Why are these screws so long for example. It makes no sense. The removable pin is very useful but it´s also eazy to loose. Might have been good to be able to fasten it on the mount when taken out. Also it´s crazy expensive for what it is. I just really needed it. And It does it jobs well, design is just.. ..not quite there.
