General Features

PCIe Bus Standard

The Juggler Cinema SSD uses the PCIe bus standard in a flash-based, removable storage product for video captures. It features recording speeds of up to 1000 MB/s, which is fast enough to sustain 12-bit Blackmagic Raw 4K DCI video at 60 fps. As bitrates in the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K can reach up to 135 MB/s, fast media is required to ensure that frames aren't dropped or recordings aren't randomly stopped.

Compatible with USB Type-C Cameras

Designed with a removable USB Type-C cable, the Juggler SSD works with a variety of USB Type-C supported cameras, providing a safe recording environment and longer recording times. Once filming has finished, the drive can then be used to edit directly off of, with a 1050 MB/s transfer speed, which helps to streamline one's workflow and avoid the hassle of transferring files from multiple cards. The Juggler also includes a mounting clip with a built-in 1/4"-20 male thread for direct camera attachment with no cage necessary.

Tested for Compatibility

To meet the extensive demands of today's broadcast and cinema industries, the Juggler SSD has undergone extensive in-house testing at Delkin to help ensure full functionality and performance in today's high-end hosts, including the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2.

Durable Design & Travel-Friendly Size

Built to endure strenuous shooting environments, the Juggler SSD is made up of a ruggedized aluminum case and durably designed to be dust-proof, shockproof, and X-ray proof. The Juggler also provides convenient, hassle-free portability, measuring in at only 4". long and weighing less than 0.25 pounds. Bring it with you wherever you go and safely store it in backpacks, carrying bags, laptop cases, and much more. Whether you are traveling, on location, or simply at home, the Juggler's compact size allows you to always have your files on-hand, while taking up minimal space.

48 Hour Replacement Guarantee

Delkin Devices' Juggler SSD comes with a 48-hour replacement guarantee in addition to Delkin's limited 13-month warranty. Delkin will happily replace any non-working Juggler within 48 hours or less, not including weekends, prior to receiving your non-working drive. Speed Failure even though barley used

I bought this drive for use with my bmpcc 6k. I didn't use the camera much at all for first year because I'm mostly Sony user. The juggler drive all of a sudden just stopped being able to record from the camera, maybe like 10 seconds tops and would drop frames, I changed the cord and followed all troubleshooting steps, sd cards are working fine. I tried using the drive for editing with davinci figured at least I could do that with it and the play back is so choppy there's no way this drive is performing as advertised.

Just great!

Perfect recording solution for the black magic pocket cameras. Still doesn't record 6k 50fps at 3:1 Braw compression but with the new black magic update you can record in Q1 with no issues.

Works well... or so it seems

I've been using this with BMPCC6K to record BRAW in 3:1, 5:1, and other formats. I also record very long clips (1-2 hours), but usually do so at 8:1 BRAW or ProRes 422. It works well all around. Only once did I have the recording stop due to what seemed like drop frames. I haven't been able to replicate that, so take from that what you will. It might've been due to another reason, or it might've been dropped frames due to heat or something else. The SSD gets hot during recording. The manufacturer assures us that it's normal.

Stopped recording after 20 seconds

I was using this on my new BMPCC6K. The first time I hit record, it stopped after just a second. I thought I may have double tapped the record button. I started it up again and it recorded for about 20 seconds, then stopped, showing an exclamation point over the red record button. I couldn't format the card or do anything with it through the camera. I was recording in BRAW 8:1 at 6K. I swapped in my Samsung T5 1TB, and even though it's not on Blackmagic's list for full 6K recording, it worked like a charm, as expected. I returned the drive, which was a very simple process. One thing that was nice about the drive is that it came with a mount.

perfect little 2TB stick for recording USB-C out on my BMPCC 6K. i shot my first feature film on this recently, and i'm super happy with it. i'd buy more of them, but we rarely shot over 600GB per day. these would be great options for someone doing documentary work or reality that needed lots of storage space for long takes. highly recommend it. only complaint — minor, minor complaint, i'm only explaining it here so if you experience the issue, you know what's going on — is that it goes to sleep after a few minutes of inactivity. then, when hitting record on the BMPCC, the camera records and pushes the data to the drive, which has to wake up first, causing dropped frames. it's right at the beginning of the clip (1 second and 6 frames, every time), and if you're aware it's not a big deal at all. i don't want to deal with dropped frames in post, so my camera cuts on a dropped frame. i lost a take or two, thinking we were rolling, not realizing it stopped 1s in (my fault). it's at 1s6f every time, so it's not something you have to worry about during a take. and this may be something common to all USB-C SSD drives. it's not a deal-breaker at all, just annoying, and makes my BMPCC slate/logging feature pretty useless.

Fantastic for BMPCC 6k

One of the few drives fast enough for the BMPCC 6k. This has been under heavy daily use for months with no issues (other than the bracket breaking). The bracket is poorly designed and will break, so make sure you have some duct tape with you.

It's not flawless but still deserves 5 stars for me

I can not record ALL highest setup on my BMPCC6K with this because there is a lot of variables to take into consideration to do so (more than just its awesome speed). So having 1TB with 2 top CF cards won't compare in price to this. I had a problem with mine, and Delkin service was FAST and simply AMAZING. They won't waste your time with troubleshooting if you face real problems. This company stands out and I will buy even more of this awesome product!

Can with this SSD use in UMP G2 Braw 1:1 120 fps 4.6k?
Asked by: Murad
Delkin has tested and approved this drive to work with the Usra Mini Pro G2. They have not listed the specific recording it allows though. Also BMD themselves do not list any USB-C drives that will go above 4.6K Blackmagic RAW 3:1 at up to 60fps. This drive should be able to handle at least that.

I do not think this is listed for Z Cam, but technically this should work for 6k raw recording?
Asked by: Rob
It works for 6k recording on the BMPCC 6K. But I don't think that is a guarantee that it will work on your ZCAM. Even on the Blackmagic cameras, the juggler 1TB and 2TB are work OR NOT for different codecs and aspect ratios. I would contact Delkin. They are really good about taking calls. Also you should know that this drive gets very hot. I have two of them. They work well. But every time I use them either with the camera or connected to the computer, the heat they create always just makes me a little nervous. You could cook on egg on it. seriously.

Asked by: Michael
The Nikon Z6 or Z7 do not support external hard drives. You can use a device like the Lacie DJI copilot to make backups when you are not attached to a computer. You would need to connect the camera via USB. Any reason why this couldn't be used as a "regular" USB hard drive for general files instead of specifically for recording from a Black Magic camera? Seems like good specs and a good price relative to some of the other choices.
Asked by: David
This only makes sense if you need ultra high bandwidth - like recording high resolution video. If you don't need the ultra high bandwidth there are less expensive options.
