These work great for closeup lighting and side lighting! I've put clamps on one end and small LED lights on the other end. I would have thought someone would have brought this out sooner.

The goose necks attach via the 1/4-20" screws and go into the threaded holes on the front of the Platypod.

Will these securely hold a medium-sized hotshoe flash? I’m interested in using with a 4AA Speedlight that weighs 16 oz for macro. I know the spec says yes, but is it really steady enough?
Yes, it will hold a medium sized flash but it may list slightly when adjusting the flash to extreme downward angles.
