SmallRig CCS2434 Overview

This formfitting Camera Cage from SmallRig protects your Sony RX100 VII or VI camera without impeding access to your camera's functions, displays, ports, or battery. The camera mounts onto the cage via a front lens ring clamp that securely holds the camera. An ergonomic wooden right-side handgrip provides a comfortable gripping surface.

The cage incorporates multiple 1/4"-20 threaded holes and features a shoe mount on the side. The bottom of the cage is tapped with six 1/4"-20 mounting threads to connect a camera plate for tripod mounting.

Fits really closely for non-shake hold. All ports and flip-ups are accessible. I'm going to add an FLM Quick Release Plate 20mm on the bottom. If I've measured accurately, I'll have a tripod mount, too. I'm very happy with the rig.

The Smallrig grip was just what I wanted so that I could have two coldshoes and attachment points. I will be using the Sony RX100VII for video and now have a place to attach a microphone as well as attachment points for a small LED light. I will also use it on a Gimbal sometimes too.

It will not. The ZV-1 has a new design. Cages specific to the ZV-1 should be available in the future.

Does this have strain relief for the micro-HDMI port? I would expect this, as one of the main purposes of such a cage.

The SmallRig Camera Cage for Sony RX100 VII/VI allows you to accessorize the camera with different elements. It does not however offer any support to the cables, including the micro-HDMI.

Would a RX100MkVII with this Small Rig frame in place fit inside Tamrac Pro Compact 1 case?

The dimensions of the SmallRig Camera Cage for Sony RX100 VII/VI is 4.6 x 3 x 1.9". The interior dimensions of the Tamrac Pro Compact 1 case is 3.3 x 1.6 x 4.9". The SmallRig Camera Cage for Sony RX100 VII/VI is a bit too big for the Tamrac Pro Compact 1 case but there might be some flex with the material.

Does the SmallRig for the Sony rx100 VII add to the outside dimensions of the camera?

Yes, as with any cage option, there will be some additional size dimensions added to a camera body. This will be within a few millimeters around the edges.
