Canon ET-83FW III Lens Hood is only compatible with Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens. Unfortunately it does not work with other lenses.

Exactly. When a circular polarizer or variable ND filter is mounted to the front of the lens, the door in the hood allows you to make adjustments without removing it or reaching in from the front of the it.

No, the Canon ET-83FW III Lens Hood would not be compatible for use with the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM Lens. The Canon ET-83FW III Lens Hood is only currently compatible for use with the Canon RF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Lens and the Canon RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM Lens. The Canon ET-87 Lens Hood, B&H # CAET87, would instead be the correct lens hood designed for use with the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM Lens.
