Don’t waste your money

Keep saving up and and get a better monopod. The build quality is poor, as well as the engineering; the screws don’t even fit properly. I thought I’d use it a lot, but I can’t even imagine putting my camera on it. The carrying bag is the only barely decent item in the box.

One serious design flaw

For the most part I like this monopod. The ball head and tilt feet allow for a smooth pan shot without camera shake. The design flaw is the quick release. The button is on the wrong side, and the clamp to tighten the plate interferes with the bottom of the camera. It should use the Manfroto design where the tightening and release are one in the same, with a tilt-down clamp. Also, the twist tightening on the pole is less convenient than a lever mechanism.

How come the chickenfeet don't work right? It doesn't stand up on it's own.
Asked by: Steve
The feet are mainly meant to improve stability, not to fully support the monopod with equipment attached (like what a tripod would do).

No, this is a proprietary plate used by many video systems, like the Manfrotto 500 series plates.
