Magewell NDI to HDMI Overview

Use the Pro Convert NDI to HDMI Decoder from Magewell to convert an NDI stream with embedded audio to an HDMI signal output. It supports resolutions up to 4K60 over NDI input, and decodes NDI|HX streams up to 2K60 and DCI 4K at 15 fps over HDMI output. The device can be powered via an included USB power adapter or over PoE using the RJ45 port. With the latest firmware update, the converter supports NDI|HX, NDI|HX2, and NDI|HX3 stream decoding.

A companion Web UI allows web configuration from a wide variety of web browsers, such as the device name, source name, NDI and EDID identifiers, and other settings. It features a 1/4"-20 thread for camera mounting and can be used in the studio or in the field thanks to a compact and durable design.

A great device for our closed circuit TVs

The Magewell Pro Convert NDI to HDI is perfect for our church's TVs in overflow rooms. We can send a signal from the vMix laptop computer to the Magewell convert NDI and plug in an HDI that feeds our HDI network for TVs in nursery and overflow rooms. It's small and easy to mount to make connections.

Excellent NDI Decoder

Using this to decode an NDI source to a projector in Church services with live stream. We previously were sending the Presentation Laptops screen to the OBS computer via NDI, and used a separate proprietary wireless video feed to the main projector. Got this so we can use the same NDI source for both and eliminate the wireless projector feed. It is working well. One thing to be aware of: the projector will display will go blank in a couple of seconds if there is no video and audio activity when using NDI Screen Capture as the source. This can be an issue during power points with static screens. You can set the decoder to keep the last thing displayed on the screen or allow it to go blank. I prefer it to go blank so I know something is wrong right away. You can also resolve by making sure the NDI Screen Capture is using an active audio source (like the microphone). This decoder has been reliable and is reasonably priced. Perhaps other decoders won't have the inactivity issue but they are also more expensive. This has not been a show stopper for us.
